So who won the swords of fury? I was the winning bidder then got out bid with about 17 seconds left. Was abit of shilling to start with the first 5 bids was the same bidder

Best version ever:

i am so happy to see this again. i got a bit obsessed with it at the time, especially trying to find the origins of two of the cuts: the streetdancing white boys at 0:58, and the chimps at 1:04 who share the screen with Monty Python, and with half a website name xxxno.com on display.

Sad that so many people bid on stuff and fail to follow through, seems like a disease of pinball machines with some sellers not insinuating that peterfenton is at all culpable. It does seem odd that the machine was for sale at £7k and no one was interested and then when it fails to hit anywhere near £7k on eBay that the high bidder can't complete the transaction. Fact of the matter is, the game is worth between £5.5 and £6k which is exactly what it sold for.

I would imagine any reputable pinball dealer in the UK would not like their image to be possibly associated with ebay shill bidders. What I mean here is if said dealers are willing to break rules on a legally binding auction site, what rules will they break when dealing with you? Not good.

Not to say peterfenton (1stoppinball) is doing anything wrong by listing a machine under his ebay user id as the guy he's selling it for could be shilling via other accounts of course. It does make you look like a dodgy dealer when it happens on your account and pinball buyers WILL take notice. Personally, i'd end that listing and sell it via other more honourable means.

If its the same one that was at the NLP show, it needs some TLC. When I played it, you could cradle the ball on the upper right flipper

It's not always shill bidding. I've sold many fruit machines and other arcade equipment on ebay, had lots of experiences of bidders who don't go through with the purchase. It's easy to click a button, no so easy to come up with 6k.

Holy cr*p ....£631 and it needed new displays and other work . Wow ...people are mad for projects right now. Its a cool Sys 11 game , awesome sound and atmosphere to it ....Lionman ! :D...... had a couple in the past ....but thats mental.

Agreed. That seems a lot of money for a project SOF. I thought that fully working examples went for that sort of cash. I am out of touch these days!

Had similar experiences myself. I can however, fortunately, spot a shill a mile off. With the same tactic being deployed with the Dirty Harry, I can safely assume the seller is a c*nt. Not Pin paradise level of c*nt, but a c*nt non the less.

Another shill is also here with the fish tales:

Yup I was the highest bidder at 493 I wouldn't of gone higher than 500. He did say the desplay was semi working so that might of been fixable. It had been shilled aswell the first 5 bids were the same person

Pretty surprised to see the WOZ sale fell through. Would have thought that given it was a limited version getting it for less than the price of a regular NIB one would be a decent deal. Wonder what it will go for this time.....
Less surprised to see the DH back, I like it but can't really see it being worth more than a grand. Think I sold mine for £800 a while back and was very happy with that price.

I see that comment a lot. That does not mean that it was shilled. If person A bids £100 on a 99p start auction, their initial bid will show as 99p. Then person B comes along and bids £20. Person A's bid now shows as £25. (And as their 2ns bid.) Person B tries again at £30. Person A's bid now shows as £35 (and as their 3rd bid) and so on and so. If person B tries 5 different amounts and they are all under person A's initial bid, then the bidding history will show as 5 different bids/amounts for person A. But person A is not a shiller! Remember, you cannot outbid yourself. So if you see 5 bids in a row from the same person it is not necessarily shill bidding.

Just saying.
