Is this the start of STTNG starting to go for silly money? Loads of them about but it's such a feature heavy machine with such a easily recognisable theme that I can see the attraction to new collectors. Shame if it's the case as it's been the only "top 10" machine you could pick up without wincing about the price. Maybe it's connected to the new colour dmd that's come out.

It's joining games like BOP and co in the Pinball Arcade curse.
because people can't get play on a ton of games locally, they're just leaping on games that theyve enjoyed/experienced on Farsights overated, bug filled mess. The second half of the curse is having a promo video on YouTube.
BOP is the worst case scenario, the desire for this game has skyrocketed since last year.
Pinsides top 100 has miraculously had all the TPA tables shoot up the rankings, despite that it was obviously designed for real machine ratings.
Pinball Arcades hand in raising game prices can't be overstated enough.
Its like whenever the UKPP happens and you can guarantee that a bunch of "Want a MM, price no object" posts will pop up on the Yahoo group, except instead of having just played the real thing, they have had the experience without having to leave the sofa.
Dont get me wrong, of course its great that pinball is getting the attention, but its legit gotten to the point that I groan when I see a game I'm after get announced for TPA, as a crazy price spike is pretty much guaranteed.
i don't think a lot of people realise how much work is involved in owning pinball machines, and cost in keeping them maintained and at their best. A lot of these eager new owners, cash in hand and with no time to be patient, are in for a real system shock.
its not impossible to read this post as semi selfish, like I'm just complaining that games are getting too pricey for me to buy wahwah
but my main concern is people bandwagoning on, paying over the odds on eBay, getting bored or burnt by a bad seller, then leaving the fad, but not until they try to make profit on their already badly priced machine.

The only reason bop is on my want list is because I have fond memories of playing it in my youth. Otherwise it prob wouldn't of made the list because of its repetitiveness.
I'm not jumping on the band wagon btw if wanted pinballs for years. Infact I bought these bleddy years ago when I still lived at home in hope of getting a machine one day.

Dont feel bad. He's an Op, but prices are way too high for games that are usually routed to death.
He likes to buy cheap and sell high - You can drive a bargain with him, however takes ages, and you never get it offered - you have to work for it...
He's to pushy for my liking. Had a feeling they might be routed :0/. If I knew what sort of price to offer without it being insulting I might try. But then do I actually want them 2 oh I don't know "confused". I don't like his badgering tho kinda intimidating which puts me off a lot (he's prob a nice guy don't get me wrong)

Yep. They shill bid to try and get top dollar and/or set an alleged 'benchmark' price for future reference..... If it doesn't re-appear now, it will likely in the near future.
