I spotted that too but thought with the £15 postage (which i kinda understand as its heavy but myHermes would do it for £5.78) it was a bit pricey. Is £50 the going rate for a Bally SS transformer? Is Brian a member on here?

I don't think he's a member on here, but a few people on here know him,he's usually open to a deal off ebay,so should reduce the price if you ask him or collect in person

Assuming you are talking bestofthebunch Brian? He's not a member, but he's a decent enough chap with me. Call him up and do a deal

Yeah, just always add a grand to your perceived value these days.
Add a grand? More like add an extra zero.

I remember when it were all fields round here as far as the eye could see...

Everything over £350 seems expensive to me (the price I paid for VECTOR). My beloved projects, PARAGON and GOLD BALL, must seem like small change at £150 and £125 each.

They are now. Unfortunately I'll have to bill you for the 200+ hours of work I've put into them. Even at minimum wage that nearly makes them valuable enough to go on eBay! ;)

It's still there so maybe funhouse isn't two grand yet. It's not dot matrix so most newbies are out lol

Well, Pinball Heaven are selling Fun House's for £7.5k so yes, I'd say £2k is an absolute bargain for a decent one.

Funhouse seller is who I bought my BOP from. Decent guy. He mentioned at the time he was selling his funhouse too if I was interested but wouldn't let it go for less than 1700. So I expect he would accept that in cash. It's supposed to be a good one. However it's not on my wanted list. For me the main selling point apart from gameplay and theme is the artwork and it's never appealed..

If ebay BIN prices look high, remember that many folk use this for free advertising and never expect anyone to pay this amount.

10 percent commission or so on a 2 grand sale is hefty. The seller might net around 1,800. So folk advertise high to get cash offers for a subsequent "off ebay" deal.

Funhouse is a stunning looking game IMO and as PeteB pointed out, 7.5k for a PH refurb, 2k for a decent original is a steal compared to some stuff I've seen sell recently.

Okay, so about a month ago i sold my batman forever on ebay. The guy didn't want to view it before he won as 'it was too far'. Rochdale to Grimsby. I made a sh#t load of videos on showing him it working and how to lift the playfield etc. Spent plenty of time answering his questions. As i was away on holiday the only time he could collect it i had somebody else in the house waiting for him to collect. Had asked the guy if he wanted it preparing for loading and he said he did. So i wrapped this up and put it on a trolley. Bubblewrapped all the legs and made sure everything was in place. Put this into my garage for collection.
He arrived early and nobody was in the house so he let himself into the garage and took the machine. Okay so the garage door was accidental unlocked due to person looking after the house had been in there and not locked it.. first cheek.
He's had it a month and it pops back up on ebay with the same pictures and description in full to what i listed it at.
I get a messege from the guy telling me the bat gun is no longer working and he wants a full refund on the machine. Told him exactly how these machines were before and after he bought it so there was no mistake. He says its on ebay and he hopes it sells for a reasonable price for both our sakes as i will be making up the difference.
Absolute joke.
He's obviously never owned a pin before and if youre not very mechanical minded to get stuck in then you probably shouldn't own one. Not pass the blame onto the previous owner after a month of playing.

I have a funhouse. Whilst it is a good game, it does have wrinkles and this hits the price. The display will put some folk off. But the playfield is the killer. Very few have diamond plate. Most are essentially system 11 playfields with associated issues _ lifting mylar (especially over inserts), playfield wear where there is no mylar, wear to the kickout, ramps damaged (later games like TAF came with factory cliffys)...

It's a really simple game there's no disputing it. But it looks stunning and there's something addictive about relighting the trap door and hitting it again and again

Ebay opens you up to a whole world of idiots....stick to selling on the forum you will have a lot less stress.

That's a sorry tale, Darren. Can you put a link to the new sale thread? It's well cheeky to let yourself into someone else's closed house by the way, let alone to expect a machine from the 90s to come with a guarantee. There's a lot of idiots out there (which is one reason id like to clock the ad, so I can make a mental note to never sell to this guy). I hope you stick to your guns, he hasn't got a prayer of getting money off you just because he paid too much or changed his mind, that's his problem - especially as you offered to show it, you sent videos, and you even got 'burgled' by him. If he turned up early and let himself in and shortly relisted it then I wouldn't be surprised if he planned it. If I was you, I'd pre-emptively consider contacting eBay to tell them your buyer is threatening you.

Buyer sounds like a TOOL, don't suppose he wants to send you some cash if it ends up selling for more? no didn't think so, ignore the fool and enjoy your day ;)
