Ebay Auctions 2015

had a gladiator for 2 weeks. came from arcade wornouts sorry warehouse. translite was missing but at the time a massive supplus in the USA meant I got a new one shipped over for £20 all in. it played ok but very clunky. considering same age as Attack from Mars it was pants. not the worst £99 I ever spent but there are 100s of better games

I've been speaking to the seller on Ebay about this game as I am quite tempted. He says it's fully working expect for some lamps, switches and needs some TIP122's replacing.....so not fully working at all if it needs board work  They've previously fixed the game in house so they have enough knowledge to know what they're talking about which makes me think it's hiding a few issues. I asked some very specific questions and got no answers, just a vague response :( At £550 it might be worth a punt but it's a risk and I don't expect it to stay at that price.

@ronsplooter @Sgt GrizZ just been offered a nice 'all round' one, 'very nice' playfield and fully working with no issues. What do you say is going price...? Got eye on three at moment and figures all over the place..... Ta.

OK, so in relation to the Space Station on ebay. The seller is not willing to give a straight answer as to whether it is working or not, so no, it is not working.

We have established that yes, there are a few faults (including board faults) but the seller will not say if the displays work, which again means they don't work, else why would he not just say they do work.

People like this are a royal pain in the 4rse, where they won't just be honest with you about the condition, because they want to maximise their profit. At the current price it is not terrible, but you have to factor in you need new displays (£150) plus other miscellaneous repairs, which are completely unknown, as he just wont be honest, it's not a great deal

The listing has been updated to now say that a board is missing :D I've asked him which board but he's gone quiet on me funnily enough

I think you'll be lucky if there are any boards in this scam of a machine. It just gets worse and worse .....

OK so there is (at least one) board(s) missing, the displays don't work and various switches, bulbs and (sensors?) needs repair/replacement, but other than that its a family run business and they have really looked after it

So as expected the T2s are starting to come out after last weeks top price. Todays mint example comes with credit dot, stuck on lights, reset issue and column out on the DMD all for the bargain starting price of £1250. Bet it still sells..... Kicking myself for buying a LAH instead of a T2 a couple of years ago.

Yup, it will no doubt make a decent price in any condition, way better than the wreck that made top dollar recently, this is in nice shape apart from the points noted, sounds like most faults can be resolved with a replacement used/working main driver board if worst comes to the worst or a quick call to Mr Wells will also do the trick ;)

"This should be a simple fix for someone that knows what they are doing."

Not like that hasn't been said 1000 times before ;) Also the LED's in the skull eyes are super big! All I can think of is that scene from The Mask where his eyes pop out his head when I look at it

3 rfms on ebay? Maybe seeing 2 scrap ones in back of a van soar to £1500 before being pulled has brought some out the woodwork. Expect to see some Dracula's on ebay soon as £165O is far higher than one ever sold for before

PinballUK and Fishbulb shifted BSD's on or above £1650 although that is top dollar for a rough example and both the others had either been re-decalled or fully workshopped and were nice examples, Neil's was up on ebay, think Colin's sold on the forum, both had a circa £1800 price tag.

meant on eBay. im sure a restored dealer machine has topper £1650 but not seen one on ebay go that high

What do you say is going price...?

IMO Space Station is £700 to £900 depending on condition for a fully working game. I'd go up to £900 if the playfield is in good shape with no wear or insert damage, the space station toy and the main ramp aren't broken/cracked and the plastics are good. If the cab hasn't faded then that's a bonus

Unless you live near the Wales Coast the space station has surely to be a no-no.

The bad news is slowly dripping out. These guys will have fixed hundreds of machines and soldered/ replaced hundreds of boards in their lifetime, so if this were a straightforward job they would likely have already done it. They will also have friends/ contacts in the industry going back decades to help them out when their own experience fell short

That folk now suspect some dishonesty/ sharp practice means the potential to waste a lot of time

And for them this is just about money/ trying to stiff an unwise buyer. For the likes of us it is a hobby. Making a meeting of minds very difficult

an op should know how to fix machine. buy it with paypal send a courier and complain its not as described

not that i care about what's on ebay, but...

this auction must break some rules - no pictures of the actual machine.

And at the end of his description he says 'Electric Car'?

Which happens to be the seller's name in this [presumably real] Addams Gold auction:

I have no interest in buying an Addams Family. Been there. Just pointing out an odd link.

please tell me it wasn't someone on here?

I did have a sneaky last minute bid at £600 thinking that if I won I'd go and have a look and walk away if it was proper f*cked ;) Not me at £673 though
