Working on a sys 11 Earthshaker with flippers that need a bit more pazzaz.

Work done

New EOS switches and caps all tensioned and gapped. Cab switches filed and gapped. All mechs rebuilt with appropriate up/down play for free movement. Trouble is they are a bit 'meh'.

Under no load, got 74vdc going from aux driver board to interconnect and 74vdc out to cabinet (J8 on inteconnect). I then get 42vdc no load across all coils and cab switches. What gives?

Power at coil drops to 32vdc under load.

Are these right. Am I missing something? Or are my glasses rose tinted by my love for ES and the flippers were always that pants?

Are the bushes worn in the plastic pawl ?

Has it got the correct coils installed ?

No - bushes not worn and yes correct coils. Pawls are new. Everything else changed. Seems problem is weird voltage drop. Andy N gave some pointers about ground continuity - will check tomorrow when not had so much vino...LOL

Good luck with it mate.

Good game is Earthshaker although it does need punchy flippers to get up those ramps.

Problem sorted. The ground braid in the bundle of cables at the back of the PF was sheared off. Simply screwed back to the other ground braid and all is good.
