Dune, by Barrels of Fun

i found one in the wild last month. Was one of the best games they had along with evil dead (didn’t rate star wars fote at all despite trying it the most while i was there). So jealous of you guys getting yours this morning. I might try and pick one up next year. Theme does nothing for me but the game is really really good. Barrels of Fun continues to smash it out the park.

Quick update to the owners I was having issues on my worm mech. My game shipped with Nov 24th code, but noticed there's a Nov 25 code update. Just applied it and it looks to have solved the issue. You can't update online at the moment so use the website and manually download.

i might have a recent code they sent me i’ll have a look.

Happy ho ho xmas to all you Dunies, so glad i kept mine over 2 other great modern games. Decided to let Dune stay and they went

My scoop protector and diverter fix turned up today, will fit that tomorrow
Titans are real nice on the flippers fyi

There was an issue with the worm, let me
know if anyone has initialising issues. You will need to power cycle if so

Anyone have the hook activating a 2nd time to release the ball on the left curled wireform with latest code update?

Hmm im going to hold off reviewing this for now because its never fair to review a pin when you first get it as you are always in the honeymoon period. But uhm, wow? I have or have had pretty much every new release in the last 3 years and some of the stuff in this game is so well done that im struggling to think of a game that has impressed me this much before. Im pretty sure gonzo and whoever else has this are going to be blown away by it.

Let us know in half an hour then.

Similar view here and is what I took away from Pinfest when I first saw it... just seems to be on another level in quality, features, sound and gameplay.

Last call to get your order in if you were on the fence.

Having owned Labryinth this for me is a much better game.

It royally kicks my ass but not in the same way Labryinth did. The game has some excellent flow and the theme integration is second to none.

Glad I got it.

Alternative backglass has been announced, will likely pick this up.

The topper has been announced also, this one's tough for me as it's just a render demo at the moment but it's got a damn short window of opportunity to buy it. Gonna think on it as I'm already 3 NIB purchases for the year.

Anyone noticed the right ramp diverter mech firing up/down quickly at certain times? Seems to be during certain prophecy modes. Surely it should be either up or down at points of the game, not firing quickly up/down randomly.

@SeikoKid you come across this? Thanks.

Only to allow the left orbit shot to flow through.

Sounds like an opto trigger?

Did you try leaving the game open in the switch test menu to see any switch registers occur?

i’ll be very honest here . I’m waiting for a replacement left wire form . i can’t play my game and haven’t been able to for a while now. They sent a replacement but it was a mess
Dave Retro is great but Dune seem to have lost interest since Winchester was announced

My diverter was always getting stuck . i fixed it myself and the new plastic protector they sent out just made it jam. I can’t really ply the game atm as the hook has no power to throw the ball

What happened with the wireform?

I've been contacting them directly and had responses really quickly which solved my issues.

Was live streaming yesterday and David Van Es (owner of BoF) came on and said hi, was pretty surreal.

He sent me some private messages checking on how the game was, which was nice.

To help anyone with their worm mech and a few other things I ran into, here's a video for some basic troubleshooting, hope this helps.

I did at first with video calls etc. Jess was super friendly and helpful. The game has been fine since. Occasionally , very very rarely now I get a worm board power issue. Was getting lots of resetting with it being in attract and also during multiplayer games. I haven't played it much these past weeks so can say if that code update has sorted that?

The hook started to not return into position. Again video call and stripped out the solenoid mech. found it to be catching on the ramp hole. So filed it a bit and it was sorted but I filed prob a little too much as the hook was a little sloppy. BOF said they would make me one but the hole is so wide now the hook sits almost 45 degrees to forward. Thus looses power on thrust.

Photo also shown the diverter fix that didnt fix it , but mine was fine before anyways

Yes, nothing triggering. I've deduced today it's only in certain modes such as Harvester 1 battle. Get it going, take the ball off the pf and it will fire up/down very quickly itself without any trigger from the ramp entrance opto. Have taken a vid and will ask BoF about it.

No biggie I suppose as only happens at certain stages. Code issue? Can't imagine it's a timed shot thing...., it's not up long enough for a ball to pass through.

After all that, by pure chance, I noted the diverter mech firing coincides with an Ornithopter moving left to right and right to left on the lower screen . Sigh....

Anyone know what these two holes on the top/right of plastic ramp entrance will be for? A future mod/pf upgrade I assume.
