dot matrix not working

hi i have a bally williams creatures of the black lagoon pinball machine the dot matrix has stopped working, how can i test this ? i thought about trying it in another similar machine if anyone has one in the bournemouth area? if its faulty can it be repaired or would i need to source another dot matrix board ?

Check for voltage into the display driver board and the display itself.

ok cheers , did you know what voltage i should have into the display and on which wires should i be measuring it ?

Bring the DMD panel and DMD driver board up to Special When Lit on Friday and I'll be happy to test them for you...

just be carefull as ya can get a good belt off that kinda voltage.Also bear in mind that your off load readings,ie display disconnected could well be higher than normal as not "on load"

you can get high voltage repair kits,or just get a new board if that is proven to be defective

Also as a quick start, with the machine off, reseat all the cables going to the DMD at both ends.
