That’s my Met all working replaced as above..
The sparky Mod update is actually one from Stern. My understanding is it’s a fudge. The coil and electromagnet would sometimes blow the transistor and take out the secondary board so they issued a revised board and cable which taps into flashers for addition power. This stops sparky from going up in smoke.. I hope!

Yeah. The board is at the bottom centre of the playfield.
funnily enough to repaired a game with this issue and it was caused by badly connected modifications.

Agree, it’s weird although the result is the coil locking with sparky, the actual fault lay with the loose flasher bulb holder. I think.
