I have for sale or trade a very nice original Doctor Who.

Playfield, ramps, plastics all very good condition, clean cabinet, no scratches.
Everything works without any errors.
Unfortunately it has the usual faded cabinet but in a very nice condition otherwise.

Pictures to follow soon.

Asking price £3800
Reduced price £3750

My fruit machine ended up in the dr who display on Blackpool pleasure Beach. When it closed down god knows what happened to it

So my wife and I popped in the shop at lunch time; some pretty impressive things in there; looked like some real props from the TV show or movies (Daleks, Tardises and such; massive)
Anyway, the lady behind the counter kind of blanked me, so I spoke to a guy who was working on their inventory or something. The conversation went something like this:

Me: Hi, bit random, but have you ever considered buying a Dr.Who pinball machine? I said I come and ask for a freind.
(Lady behind the counter pipes up); depends on condition and how much
Me; mentions price and the u.k pinball community etc. (Guy says send them pics etc)
Lady; I've had a few of those; ended up selling the last one for about £700; aren't worth anything...
Me; When was that? 20 years ago?..... well, its not my machine, I'm just asking for a freind so...
Guy; writes down e-mail on a flyer (I'll pass that on to Chris, although potentially a waste of time.
Found thr lady quite rude to be honest. Shop was impressive though and was busier than we expected (my wife couldn't believe that there were so many customers in there and found the whole thing quite amusing 😄)

Maybe the woman answers all queries like that, even 'like a cup of tea*?' "depends on condition and how much".

Isn't there a contradiction between 'depends on condition..' and 'not worth anything'? You should have offered to buy any more they're lumbered with, for £700.

* "in a cracked cup, an' all. Without milk or sugar. Or tea"

If shes lumbered with any more at £700, I'll give her a grand and take as many as he can get!

There was the head of an 'original Dr Who K9 prop' in that recent really overpriced auction of ancient pinball tat which we all laughed about on here - I can't find the link now that auction is over, but I remember that the description of it was that it was acquired when that Blackpool Pleasure Beach display closed down - maybe the owner stole your fruitie too!;)

Love Everything Doctor Who including the pin table. The only negative thing to say about the table is those hideous looking Whomobiles!! I got a friend to 3D print actual vehicles instead of those funny shaped plastic and stickers.

Very few people who go into a specailist shop are going to want to pay for a pinball machine, obviously they will want a profit and VAT on top. This is simple business sense. As they are a Dr Who shop they may sell a lot under comission.

Plus it takes up so much floor space as well. They could put a big cupboard with loads of stuff that would sell quicker.

I had a shop try and buy my dalek (see videos)

They wanted it for next to nothing as they have to make a profit - and have to give the government 20%
