Dmd issue

Only just set TAF up and the dmd has an issue. I dont think it's the dmd so maybe the roms or connection issue?
Advice greatly appreciated.

You have probably already done it, but check the connectors in the back of the DMD and also test the DMD, just to be sure, but I agree, doesn’t look like that’s the issue. Then move on to any seated chips on the DMD board and reseat them. That’s about as far as I can take it.
 
I've not tried anything yet. It was late and I was being lazy. Will give them a good clean and reseat them.

Can also be the square socketed chip on the cpu. With power off, push the chip home with your thumb all round the edges until it stops 'creaking'
 
That's a bit weird, these displays clock the dot data in per row serially so having a solid dot every 8 bits is a bit strange (usually see stuck rows not columns?) Id reseat any display ram as well (if socketed).
