I am getting far too many bouncing balls on my game.

I have managed to cure most by replacing the target foam and bending the offending stand up targets forward a bit

The stand up to the right of the theatre entrance will not stop producing these bouncing balls. Whenever I hit it from the left flipper, the ball bounces up and hits the wireform ramp.

The only way I can see to stop this is to reduce the power in the left flipper. But if I reduce the power further, I will not be able to backhand the left ramp.

Does your game do this ?

Have your found a cure ?

Do I just put up with air balls ?

Or do I reduce power in the left flipper and sacrifice the backhanded left ramp shot ?

Thanks.

Mine is quite bouncy currently, I regularly end up with balls bouncing up onto the wireform. I've bent forward the 2 theatre standups but need to do some others too. The phone scoop protector seems to cause a few I think, also I wouldn't be surprised if the mylar around the QED slot is causing the ball to fly slightly so it's already airborne when it reaches whatever it hits next.

I get airballs but haven't played it enough to really spend timing considering it. Isn't there a thread on Pinside which deals with adjustments and such? I've been meaning to get around to reading stuff too. I must admit I don't recall much in the way of airballs when I played it at the Expo back in October.

Is the rivet on the target quite prominent ?
I’ve seen this before and the ball was hitting the rivet on the top edge and the radius of the rivet was causing the ball to become airborne. I cured it Byblos removing the target, taking it to work and peening the rivet head flat.
Now I know you can’t do this with a new game. Are there any switch decals available ? The thick foam type decal would prevent this type of air ball.
