Demo Man retina scan

Hi guys,

Recently obtained myself a Demolition Man. Great game, love it.
BUT, the retina scan ball recess kicker seems to be weak. Sometimes it'll boot the ball out of the recess, and other times it seems to struggle. Does anyone have any ideas as to what it could be? WD40 maybe?

definitely not WD40, that stuff will ruin a pinball machine

a weak coil could be a few things, you need to take the mech apart and check the end of the plunger (can be mushroomed), the end stop (can be flattened out), replace the sleeve (too much friction), make sure the thing it hitting the ball in the centre, see if there is any slack in the link.

often just taking it apart, cleaning it, putting it together will fix it up, as perhaps a screw got loose and shifted a mm a so, and that's all it takes.

I kinda panicked when I lifted the playfield and ran on here for help before I actually sussed it out. It was just a sticky joint in the end. All fixed now!
