Decent/cheap Multimeter

Thx for the reply....
Are these any good from Screwfix for a tenner?

I'm not sure that one has 'beep' setting for continuity ?? - normally you can see the little 'speaker' symbol on the dial markings. You *do not * want a meter without that . Unless you are doing lots of board work I think a £15 basic one with clear display and audible continuity function will serve you perfectly well for general pin repair.

i would guess that it does have an audible continuity setting. I know the MAS830L has and i think its just the same unit with a backlight..
but i would check in store before buying

Good price as well

Sorry to be blunt but cheap meters suck!

If you want to keep the cost down then I recommend looking for a half decent second hand meter on eBay etc. Something like this: http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/FLUKE-23-MU...ed-in-good-condition-/281869712846?nav=SEARCH

Continuity/diode testing with buzzer and auto ranging are essential features IMO. Electrically safe is a bonus too, whatever voltage you probe is in the meter!
