Hi, I’m looking to match up the blue paint on a Star Wars pin. The vromt of the back box needs a paint. So does The inside sides.
Has anyone got a good colour match or paint code please?

Thanks

Steve

A little bump on this. I would like to tidy up the back box and inside side rails.

Thanks

It’s a tough one. There’s probably a load of fade in different places on an old machine so could be difficult to advise on. I’d just have a guess with a couple of sample paints.

I got new decals and took a sample to Halfords and end up doing the whole thing in a shade of engine enamel that matched the new decals. The colour is probably slightly different to yours.

Thanks for the reply. It’s the front of the backbox edges I want to paint as they are scuffed. Also the inside on the sides around the playfield.
I guess get some colour switches from home base or something and see what’s close.
If I do a good job will it devalue the pin as it’s been painted in some areas?
For me it will make it much nicer so I guess that’s all that matters.

Thanks
Steve

If it was black it would be dead easy. I just used a paint pen on my STTNG.

I have done the black coloured pins with sating black paint and a 1/2 inch dish and they look good.
Just the coloured ones are harder to do.
I also have a LW3 so guess that might be the same colour as the Star Wars.

Thanks

I’ve not done it but I’ve heard of someone taking the head into somewhere like “B&Q?” Where they scan the paint and mix you up a batch? But as mentioned earlier it probably depends on where the machine has been etc. I’d be interested how you get on as I’ve got the same issue

That’s a good idea but there is no way I’m taking it apart to take it to b&q.
I will get some colour swatches and see how it comes out. Once I do it I will post back my results.

Thanks

You could try Humbrol enalmel 14. I.m sure I used this with good effect on my first DESW years back and still have a pot but no doubt it’s dried up by now.

Take a sample of paint to a local DIY superstore, they can mix it to that shade. You could even take the backbox in and they will scan that.

Sorry. Noticed someone has said this!!!!
