DE Hook music problem

Got a strange problem with my DE Hook:

The left ramp switch has suddenly started switching the background music off.

All other sounds are OK and the background music comes back on when the tune would change e.g. at the end-of-ball or start-of-multiball. Music stays on OK until that ramp is hit again.

Can anyone help please? I have no idea where to start looking.

Playing with a hook too.

Found it was a connector on the power supply board causing the very same issue. Low voltage/too much resistance causing the board to reset. 'hook' 'hook' and also to stop and start background music.
Now rebuilding the ps board with all new connectors.

I also popped out the roms on the sound board, cleaned the legs and re seated them. Just for good measure.

Gained a clock ticking sound on the coin door when a half credit is entered. This thing was set at £2 per play o_O
Great quality sound on these!

I am making a final post here in case anyone with the same sound problem stumbles across this thread.

Andy Netherwood asked me to make a video of the problem happening during a game - and when I did I noticed the chaser lights in the light-rope stopped whenever the sound failed. Andy suggested disconnecting the chaser lights and that has entirely solved the sound problem.

I still have to sort out what's wrong with the chaser lights - probably a short - but the point is they were also taking out the sound whenever they failed.

Thanks Andy!
