Data east star wars HELP!!!!

Hi

So after 8 years of playing my data east star wars pinball machine (1992) I finally have a problem with it . The launcher has stopped working ie the solenoid isn't firing the ball. I've no idea if this is a common fault or not. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks

If all of the other coils fire then check and see if one of the wires has dropped off

Hi thank you so much for your suggestion. I had a really good look and the wires were connected but one was trapped in the spring and part of the wire outer had melted so the bare wire was shorting on the spring. All fixed now and a very happy boy thanks again@@@
