If anyone happens to have any of the Ball Guides for Rocky & Bullwinkle then please let me know.

During the rebuild on mine i've found at least one which has one of the metal mounting points broken off. I've got a couple of others which have already been repaired and have the mounting points rivetted on.

It would be really nice to get them replaced if possible, so if anyone has any spares or is breaking a machine then i'd like to hear from you. :-)

Sure have Ian.

This is the one which has the tab missing - the bit which has snapped off comes from the right hand side of the notch, you can see where the metal is discoloured.

And this is the one that's rivetted, but i've no idea if this is a hack or how it's mean to be.

@BigIan Sorry to be a pain in the backside, but would you be able to check please and see if you have either of the guides above?

I came to refit the straight one tonight and the mounting tab on one end has totally sheared off. You can see it's placement in the picture below.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks Ian. I know how it can be with busy lives so please don't feel the need to apologise.

:-)

You could always drop the ball guide round my way and i can Tig weld the snapped lug back on. It looks like it has been welded before by the discolouration

Thanks for the offer Dave. Alas I don't think I have the piece which has snapped off :-(

Ok no worries. If you run out of other options i can always make another tab for it to weld on

Thanks Dave. I really appreciate that. I'll have a dig around just in case it's in one of the many boxes i've got.

Well by a complete fluke I found the missing lug tonight. No idea how hard or easy it'll be to weld back on because it's pretty small, but if you're up for the challenge then let me know Dave and I can drop it round to you.

If Ian turns one up as well then I can hopefully keep the welded one as a spare, but at least this way I can crack on with the rebuild.

Not looking like I have the bit you need although I do have a load of straight guides in various lengths if any of any use as a starting point?
I'm guessing your piece is about 3 inches long, those pictured are between 2.5 and about 5 inches long (I have others also)

I also have some curved ones but nothing close to what you need..

Thanks for taking a look Ian. Alas the one I need also has a cutout for the GI which rather complicates matters.

On this occasion I think the best option is to have it welded, particularly as I managed to locate the missing tab. I've just dropped it down to @Davey D and he's going to sort it out for me.

Blimey, you don't hang around. Thanks Dave, i'll pop back to grab it tonight, then the rebuild can continue this evening.

Huge thanks to @Davey D . He's done a sterling job on the busted up ball guide.

Good as new. I've got all the guides back in place now and have started to refit some of the plastics. Still lots to do. Was hoping to post more photos tonight but the battery on my mobile was dying. No work on it this weekend as i'm away but hopefully i'll get some photos and a progress update done next week when i'm back.
