Hi Guy's & Gal's, I got a Creech that I was just playing has been fine, finished game to answer door came back and all lights out colour display got a few lines of dots and a fast clicking

Look at the CPU board and check it is not constantly rebooting.

Your cpu is not booting. Of the three leds on the cpu the top should go out and the middle one flash rapidly. The lower stays on.
Most common problem, is low 5v to the cpu. Start by reseating the power connectors immediately below the short grey ribbon connector connecting the two lower boards.
There are loads of things that can cause this, so work through from the most likely first.
Also check the input connectors on the right hand side of the large board for any signs of overheating.
Your board has previous repairs so there may be an issue with that.

Yeah - not booting.
5v could be too low.
Have you had a fault with it reseting when you hit both flippers or during multiball previously?
With the power off reeat carefully all the connections on the cpu board
Make sure the asic chip is pressed in.

It did reboot back to factory settings a week after I brought it tbh that was a couple of months ago
I'll take a better look tomorrow, but thanks for the pointers 
I do not mean back to factory settings. That happens with old batteries.
By rebooting I mean as you play a game - does it ever just stop and restart the system (ie - the display shows the same as when you switch it on)....

Curious about that cpu board. Repro? Use of zif sockets suggest it's for dev work?
Well spotted there mate.
I will also add - take out the cpu board.
Remove each chip and put it back in !
Also check legs for any corrosion - Use IPA to clean the chips.
Sorry i'm lost, dev work..?.. anyone wanna buy another cheap machine lol
Worse case you send the CPU to @philpalmer at pinball heaven, he can test it - and if needed repair - or worse case scenario sell you a new CPU board....
I wouldnt sell it for this.
May also be worth sending in your power driver board to check that works too.
Believe you and me - the cost for me to come down would be a hell of a lot more
Yeah no prob, i'd swap it out rather than a repair if it's knackered. Phil's a good guy, i'd just get a new one. I will have a look tomz when alone and no kids running around, but again thanks for all the input.
I would send your board back to him, reason being if you dont have the correct tool to remove the asic chip you can damage it.
Phil never repaired the board as far as I know Pick, bit of confusion here. I was just saying the guy's a nice geezer. as for any previous repairs on the said board, god knows m8. I brought the machine off here from a guy who owned it for a good few years.

Check the power connectors as I said before. If you have a meter check for 5 volts at the test points.
If 5v is good, then next remove the three ribbon cables at the cpu. Switch on and see if the middle led flashes rapidly, or is the same. A bad data connection to another board can cause the cpu to stall.
If 5v is good and the cpu still doesn’t boot then you’ve isolated the fault to the cpu. You can then choose to repair or replace.

Afternoon all, Just had a look at the Creech, it was a bad connection on the ribbon cable from the big board (driver board is it ? ) anyhow it went back to factory settings, I set it all back up and all seems fine now so thanks again for all the input & help.

I’m pleased you’ve got it working. I should add that I don’t think that ribbon cable would cause a cpu to stall, or cause factory reset. My guess is that your square socketed chip (asic) needs reseating. You don’t have to remove it, just ( with power off ) press it home firmly with your thumb going around the edge of the device. You should hear it creak into place.
It’s probable that whilst reseating the cable you flexed the board sufficiently to improve the contacts of the socketed chip.
If you get the symptoms again that is what I’d do next.

Cheers Andy. it could of been any actually I guess as I redid the lot lol. I will look at the chip tomz bud. You know i'm crap thats why I run the machine to you.
