Sold Creature from the black lagoon.

I don't think there are any big problems on here tbh. There can always be 'bidding wars' going behind the scenes ... as soon as someone lists something at whatever price then anyone is free to contact them and start negotiating if they want. Hard to avoid that. And I actually don't think its a big problem, I'm pretty sure most sales on here are handled in a gentlemanly fashion.

The only gripe I have is increasingly every FS thread seems to invite endless discussion on merits of the game in question etc etc, sometimes veering wildly off topic, and comments like 'good price' , 'this wont be around long'.... may seem harmless enough banter amongst the regulars but it can actually impact on the sale - have directly experienced this myself. And I'm sure can be a bit frustrating at times for a new member selling something. I wouldn't want to start heavily policing FS threads but I think sometimes folk should think twice before posting a comment. I include myself in that ,after a few light ales  Talking of which ..is it beer o'clock yet ? ;)

Totally agree with @domlouis don't try to fix what isn't broken nothing is perfect but you can't satisfy all the people all the time

Why not just have for sale threads locked so only the seller can post? If they step out of line, the mods can step in...

Tickles me that we're discussing this on a for sale thread

I actually like the fact people can comment on FS threads. While it might go a little off topic at least it keeps it at the top of the thread list rather than sinking like a stone.

Do we really need to tighten the rules? If we did would it lead to more machines being sold here? With regard to this seller I don't see a big deal that his first thread was a FS one. Sticking it on ebay for £500 less was a bit of a strange move though but it's his machine to do as he liked with
