price needed for sales here

jesus Rupert, is it made of gold?
oh well, your game, your price, good luck with sale and all that. you may need it

@BigBear77

Hi. Welcome to the madhouse.

Plenty of folk will be interested in a creech, but as said, forum protocol is that the listing needs a fixed price

For auction type sales, over to eBay

It went up on eBay today at £2750, which minus fees is £2475, so not sure why he was flogging it on here at £2950?

It's been taken off now so assume it was bought

Unbelievable !! contacted him last night trying to arrange a viewing 460 mile round trip for me would have obviously had pennies in pocket and been blanked

He got back to me via PM on here yesterday. "Perfect playfield" apparently. Highly doubt that unless it's had one fitted recent or repaired to high standard. Would of said he has sold it from the eBay ad.

Yes it's been sold. Just to say the Playfield is perfect and original as I know the machines history! This is the last one of my 2 machines out of my 7 personal collection of 6 years. Thanks for making a new member feel so welcome on this site. I will not be advertising my MB on here!

I do not agree with making new members feel unwelcome but this is a community and you get out what you put in. That's just the way it works out.

Good luck with selling your last game.

Let me see.

Dont say hello.
Post an item for sale, obviously not reading (or ignoring) the rules which request to put a price.
Also put it on ebay
Disappear from here, not answering any questions - people guess it's sold, and you come back to confirm that.... And then have the audacity to complain that people don't make you feel welcome....

Have i missed something here??

How can the playfield be described as perfect? Excellent maybe, but perfect as a descriptive word? 23 years old and perfect..

having all the required or desirable elements, qualities, or characteristics; as good as it is possible to be.

I pm'd you about the MB and you didn't bother replying

As a fellow new member, I agree with all the others on here, you don't even say hello or at least look up the rules to posting in the for sale section and just fire up a for sale add with initially no pricing, then crackers price and no decent photos to back up you condition claims, then fail to answer people's questions.
Asking £2950 on here and then putting on eBay for £2750 is like giving the middle finger to people here, bearing in mind that if someone hits buy it now you are gonna get £2475
Don't forget we aren't in primary school and it's not the playground!

Yes its advertised on this site for more than on ePay....

Is there a way @Paul could put a control on the For Sale function, with a pop up note or similar reminding someone that 'if you're selling a machine (rather than just a manual, for example) then the listing must have pictures, a realistic price (remembering this is pinball forum for pinball fans, you're not going to get away with the charging £8k for a rough Gilligan's Island, you're welcome to try but chances are you'll be sent packing) and provide the machine's location, otherwise it'll be removed. Them's the rules. Saves everyone having to chip in with reminders, or at least it might do.

Yeh - I'm toying with ways it can be subtly altered at the moment - I could say that people cant start a post in there unless they have posted more than x times, however that then promotes people posting crap elsewhere, and so doesnt really help the situation....

If people just read the Rules then they would know of course.... :D

its that long since i signed up (day 1) so cant remember if there is a confirmation email etc ?

If there is the selling rules could be included there ?
Or maybe you can't sell untill you have read a forum post about selling that is updated by moderators as new rules are needed ?
Not sure if this forum software supports that sort of control

I wouldn't stress tbh, newbies get welcomed and politely nudged in the right direction and, as above has shown, pitchforks soon follow should they be deemed necessary.....:suspect:

Not easy for you to monitor or moderate Paul.
The problem being the system is open to Dodgers...... Pointing no elbows.

Examples as follows.
Toying with the idea of selling my pinball machine or.....
will put it up for sale if there is interest......what price could I expect?.... Doh!

Need space will be selling "some" of my pins soon.

Thinking of selling....Just testing the water......what would be a fair price etc etc.

I put this down to the seller looking for a floating top price and shying away from expected critical incoming comment.

I see no problem with a high asking price followed by OBO (or best offer)
Even a fairly priced pin maybe open to negotiation... Or not.

I would also think it fair if there was a scale of fixed charges for any ads on the For Sale thread.....which would help with website costs.

That covers the first couple of issues... :)

I see a problem with a high price "OBO" - in that it creates a bidding war behind the scenes, along with the expected calls of "silly prices" etc from others, which is what we are trying to get away from.

Dont want to fo Fixed Charged route, since that forces registration and also people should not be forced to donate, alto admittendly that would get rid of some of the ****-takers.

What I MAY do is to introduce some kind of buy it now type thing.... almost like a classifieds... however the seller is forced (if selling a table), to include x number of photos...

We'll see :) There's a few decent add-ons about at present :)

My penny worth: i don't get the impression that the current system is flawed. It works most of the time. Occasionally someone new comes along and one of two things happens: he either follows the unwritten rules as invited by others on the forum and everything is fine. Or he tries to barge his way in and he gets rebuked. Well that's fine in my book. Can't see the problem here.

Let's not get like pinside people, I see they charge for selling now much like eBay the fee gets higher the higher the price is
