CPR playfields. Sale

My WW was missing the shooter lane cut-out, fixed myself and CPR gave me a bit of a refund to be fair.

Its very weird the lack of gloss on that Corvette, should be glossy even straight from the gun, I would be tempted to rub a bit of polish on a coloured area and see if the cloth stains, possible its missed the clearing process completely?
You can tell there’s clear on it by the plain unpainted wood under the apron etc.. it’s just as if they used a matt clear! I’ll definitely be getting it done again. Just a hassle and expense I don’t need. Can’t even be bothered to message CPR. Anyhow, I’ll cross that bridge in a decade when I get round to swapping it 😆

My WW just installed was perfect and aged well as I kept it two years before installing and nothing moved.

I bought the bargain POTO but on hols so not checked it yet. It had a misprint but looked good as a one of a kind on the pictures.

I haven’t had a cpr playfield since the first taxi run about 2013. That was fine. Their clear process has never been the best but this one has got no shine to it whatsoever

Yeah I guess the good thing is it's fixable with clear, not like alignment, cracked inserts or something, and you should end up a better finish overall.

Still annoying tho, interested to hear if you do find someone UK based who can do the clear.

Thanks mate.
Yeah, if anyone knows anyone who can do clear coating I’d be interested to hear how much it would cost.

Many of them are now sold out, no guarantee if they will make more and even f they do will likely be full price.

We had a Diner playfield where all the green art was yellow. It turns out they messed up the colour printing order on an entire batch. Their argument was it was $100 less than usual and the pictures showed the printing issue. But who's really studying and comparing colours? It should have been in the description. We returned it because once you see the lack of green (yellow lettuce, yellow lock shot etc) you can't unsee it and I couldn't bare going through a playfield swap knowing it wasn't perfect.

They were still selling that batch till recently, I thought it was a little dodgy personally.

Personally i would moan at them. Surely if something isnt up to standard then they should be responsible for the costs to ship it back and provide a replacement?

Or am i talking too much common sense here?

To much common sense. This is pinball and nothing goes smoothly once it’s gone wrong.

I’ve done my bit to get CPR to sack UPS.

I’d also be all over anyone that can do a Kruzman style job in the UK.

Sad to see, @Spandangler. It looks like the insert has moved (maybe when they baked it in the oven, I presume they bake it, you do with cars.)
I'd be interested to see what lacquer they use. You get what you pay for the automotive paint but you're not looking at much on a playfield.

Cheaper 2K will matte and "gassing off" time inbetween coats is also a factor.
Decent 2K wouldn't matte off but they can sink, the taillight insert however looks like insert movement.

As Jim mentioned I had issues with my Flash Playfield - emailed cpr straight away got a reply within a day that will sort a new one for me (even tho it’s showing as sold out on the site)

Obviously a long way from having it back in my hand and sorted but feel much better knowing they are gonna make it right

How does that work with the duty paid. Will they try and charge you again?

Gotta love AI sometimes...

When receiving a warranty repair or replacement from the USA, you must ensure it is correctly declared to avoid paying UK import duties and VAT again. . Ask the sender to clearly mark the parcel as "Warranty Return" and use Returned Goods Relief to avoid charges, as the item has already had tax paid.
Key Procedures for Receiving Warranty Returns:
  • Documentation: Ensure the commercial invoice clearly states "Item for repair/replacement under warranty" and lists the value for customs as what it would cost to replace it if lost.
  • Customs Relief: You may be eligible for Returned Goods Relief, which prevents paying import duty on items returning to the UK after repair.
  • Carrier Charges: Be aware that courier services (e.g., FedEx, UPS) may charge a clearance fee even if the item is duty-free.
  • Labeling: Ask the sender to place a note on the outside of the package for UK Customs.

I’ve emailed CPR. I’m too British sometimes about kicking up a stink. It’s just a hassle. I’ll see what they say. It literally isn’t useable as is. It needs clear coating!!

Send it back mate, more trouble than it’s worth.
Hassle free when I returned mine, lovely playfield arrived with very nice clear coat and flush inserts. Shame UPS dropped it out of the plane and damaged a corner🤬
Luckily back left so not a problem, gave me $100 compensation. I excepted as wanted closure😂

Been curing nearly 4 years braced (as was going to warp) and inserts still flush, will fit it one day or pay someone as it might get done then!

And just got a shipping notice from ups so looks like I won’t be waiting as long as I feared
