Hi, I'm having problems with the engine on my Corvette. It fails the self test.
I was initially unable to get it centred in the adjustment mode, then I managed to get it centred and next time it would not centre again. I noticed that the hall effect sensor between the horse shoe magnet was not attached to the bracket and I suppose thus moving slightly. I've reattached it and it routinely centres now, doing what I guess it's meant to. The engine is thrown to the left and then slowly centres itself.
In engine test mode it is failing. The optos are registering the position, maximum left and right (with a x in the respective box) and I'm also getting figures in test mode when I move the engine by hand. this I think is the position sensed by hall effect for maximum left and right. However, when performing the self test with power applied I'm not getting the numbers and the test is failing.
At the moment I'm blindly adjusting the horse shoe magnet as per... this link. I do however have an adjustment pot on my Corvette engine and the engine does seem to be centering.
Can any one point me in the right direction to get this fully working?
Cheers, Nibsy.
