Considering Vector is a fairly loathed game (not by me) and considering that Vectors tend to be fairly trashed anyway and this is the trashiest of the trashed... I'd say you're a madman!

Is it beyond repair?

The playfield certainly is, it looks like the shroud of turin! 😂

How many posts etc you can save depends on how badly everything is rusted.

It would be a huge amount of effort to properly restore, and then you would be left with a game worth around 1k. Only take this path for the love of it.

My recommendation would be to get it working, replace what absolutely needs it, and enjoy it for what it is because despite what people think its a game with loads of character and charm.

Yeah. Overlay on Elektra went well.
Space Invaders has one on with a PF protector on and is fine for home use.

About to lay one on Haunted House.
Depends how far you want to go I guess.

Got to save these 40 year machines one way or another.

A little update I tried to transfer a laser printed picture to a plywood for now just a a3 format but the result is quite impressive and it cost almost nothing.

Very cool. So you printed it out and then clear coated it onto some ply? What was the process.

I printed to a normal copy paper, afert put the tansfer gel to the ply and the front of the pictures, after I put the pictures facing down to a plywood and press togother, wait a day, after put some water to the paper back with a sponge and rub the paper off with my finger.
You can check the metod on youtube search "transfer picture or photo to wood"
After I rubbed the paper just the ink remain in the ransfer gel after I need to clearcoat the surface

I really appreciate innovative techniques like this. Did you get a decent Vector scan for your print out? I'm thinking for mine, a homemade playfield protector could overlay "sticker" art repairs.

I get the right scan from the american pinball repair club. I will do a shop log when I start the project. Another innovative thing is the direct print to wood. My friend did it and the result is awsome. You cant tell which is the original playfield. And the cost is also resonable. One negative thing is when you do the direct print you have to take apart the whole playfield.

A little update of my comet pinball repair.
