ColorDMD in TOTAN?

I think a colour display in a Stern such as Star Trek or Spiderman is a great upgrade, the digitised scenes look so much better than with the standard LED display.

However I’m not so sure about the benefit with the more cartoony graphics of WPC games, especially against the look of a strong original plasma display.

I’m worried about spending the best part of £500 and then being ‘meh’ with the result so I’d be interested in the opinion of others, esp anyone who has upgraded their TOTAN to a colorDMD from the original.

Thanks!
Andy

Personally i do not think colour displays automatically enhance games. Some simply do not look better, in fact the original displays suit a lot of 90`sgames better in my opinion. So it`s horses for courses and of course the most important thing is whether you like it or not.

Have to agree especially with incomplete code like I've seen on a few TZ's which just looks awefull at times.

Also how much time are you spending looking at it anyway while playing, I'd class it along with powdercoat, toys, speaker lights and toppers, they bling up a machine to make it look nice while not playing but don't really add a whole lot to the game play, with the exception of toppers that unlock game features.

Not sure why anyone would pay £500 for a colorDMD when you can get a Pin2DMD for £200
Depends on the quality of the colorisation doesn’t it?

For example in the Stern Star Trek I had the ColorDMD looked miles better than Pin2dmd did - but other games the difference may be less, or not at all.

I had a PIN2DMD when I had a TOTAN - really worth the upgrade cost in my opinion. At the time it was approx £150.
