Due to delivery problems, 4 weeks after agreeing the trade my Cirqus Voltaire finally arrived!

It's in decent condition but needs a couple of small fixes. The home rom was in upside down for one and there was no sounds as a result! I bent the pins getting it out so it took me an age putting the bugger back in again.

Only other problem at the minute is there is a knocking sound from the back of the playfield every now and again and I can't figure out what it is!? Any ideas?

I'd check the diverter at the very top of the playfield to see if that could be making the knocking sound. Could be loose ? Is it defo coming from the base ? Its not the cannon firing is it ?

I only had one game before bed, ill take a closer look today. Didn't even know it had a cannon! It sounds like a solenoid kicking every now and again for no apparent reason up near the DMD?

Looks lovely mate, congrats. I hope your dad likes this one better than the Tron, and that Tron went to a good home.

Can you post a load more pictures please? A really excessive close up amount of beauty and colour for us pin porn fans? I didn't used to, but nowadays I love me a bit of Cirqus

Yep, I'll get some decent shots this weekend. JJP reiterated yesterday that Woz will definitely start shipping in March so depending on where I am in the production line CV may not be with me too long :(

Yes, thats deffo the cannon firing in the backbox you are hearing. Utterly useless mode where you have to fire the ball to get it to spin the plastic spinner thingy in the BB.

Some great features in the home roms with a wizard mode to die for. Shivers down the spine the first time you hear the whisper 'join the circus'. Had mine for ages, but it really got to be a right bitch keeping it working properly. Make sure the switches for the lock on the metal ramp all work 100% as a dodgy intermittent switch will play havoc with the game. Also keep an eye on the boom balloon being level with the playfield to aviod any wear on the inner edge.

More pictures as requested

Bad points:
Wrinkling under the legs as normal
A little insert ghosting here and there but again, most CVs i've seen have had this
One of the volt rollovers has a decal on. Not sure why as there is zero wear on the rest of the playfield?
Flippers could possibly do with a rebuild at some point. Perfectly playable though
Couple of ball hangups which I've already tweaked and fixed
One scrape to the wood on the right side backbox about 3-4inch long and a couple of knocks on the left side

As for the rest I'm very happy. Playfield is lovely and has a lovely deep shine to it. No switch errors bar the backbox. Overall the cabinet art is in very good condition. Nice strong DMD. Legs look relatively new. New coin door installed. Should keep me ticking along nicely until Woz arrives :D

Just noticed a few differences between our machines. Mine has "TICKLE ME" under the ringmaster's bow tie and there's no "BALLY HOO" under the stand up targets either side of the ringmaster.
Mods I've made? I've added the extra decals and fitted non reflective glass. Also had to have the colour changing shooter rod ball! It has the "super" eddy chip and I'd agree with whoever posted the piece about "Join the Circus". I got there twice in my best ever game and its different the second time around. If my grey cells were up to it I'd have made a note of how they went but failed miserably, well I was delighted with the score!;)

Mike, Your playfield is one of the early productions one's.

Yes, number 34 of 200 early prototype machines with the different artwork and the skinny ringmaster.

New D13 diode has solved the fuse blowing issue.

Sounds like JJP is ramping up production so this is going to be up for sale soon at £3k ish if anyone is interested
