work so far
- replaced love never dies flasher connector
- reflowed a couple pf connectors
- swapped inserts from LED back to Incandescents
- swapped pf GI to blue (not sure on the blue might try more authentic comet warm white bullets)
- swapped out bg GI to comet warm white bullets
- swapped out all flashers back to Incandescents
- installed retroRefurbs side blades (look really good i think)
- added new clear speaker panel repro (old one had red cutout )
- new legs/bolts as old ones bit grubby
- swapped lower posts to blue

to do
- swap out rubbers

What is people’s opinions on blue vs warm white GI for this game? I’ll prob be selling in few months as need to get more cash for double garage extension so probably best to have the game set up how most people would prefer it.

In all honesty mate I think it overpowers the artwork of the game.

If you want to keep a blue feel, try cool white or (sparingly) ice blue comets instead. They'll keep the cold feel but without being overly harsh.

Mine came with blue’s which I got used to and think it adds to the atmosphere a bit in a dimly lit room, such a creepy game.
If you play in the dark then maybe not.
Blue LED’s don’t photograph well, looks better in the flesh.

@strobey would go mad if you put blue LED's in his! The great thing is you can do what you want with LED's - the bad thing is you can do what you want with LED's. The Comet sunlight do seem to be what everyone is raving about, I have had to up next order and will probably be holding at at least a 2:1 against cool white. So it is definately the favoured now.

@M4carp is that blue pops I see as well? could you take some more photos of those as i was tempted to do this as well but thought it might have to much blue in it as the red glow from the center does break the blue nicely

Yeah the blue in that photo is not how it looks like in real life its very washed out blue from the photo and looks much better in real life. But might swap over to warm white. I don't mind swapping them over as does not take long. Its just those 2 bulbs under the left ramp are a nightmare to get to lol Maybe leave how it is and offer the option when I come to sell

Sold mine recently but yes blue pops.
I tried comet sunlights in my FT and AFM around lanes and sling shots and did not like, I put in the premium warm whites from Alchy (Dave) and look great, not tried comet warm whites.

Am liking the blue pops but can’t bring my self to completely disassemble them to change the skirts

When I had mine I just put on blue pops and left the skirts, looked fine.

Interesting, I do have a set of purple / blue caps to try, did you put coloured LEDs inside or normal bulb?

I will say the retro refurb side blades look amazing! work really well in this game and glow up with the blue hehe.

I put the flat headed LED's in as the regular one were slightly too big. I think just white ones.

Iv found the blue / purple caps look a bit washed out with normal bulbs but the red glow such a nice red. Maybe blue caps with blue LEDs will give a better effect

Factory cover is horrible, this dudes ones is million times better, yeah just PM, cost 48euro shipped which is pretty good value when it comes to pinball mods (inc stickers..) I

Continuing with my rubber swap, more I take it apart more weird **** I find Lolol. Here is some examples

- wood bolt in machine screw post (will re tap thread and put correct screw in)
- huge rubber ring, should be 2 smaller ones
- large rings where should just be the tiny ones (top lanes)
- metal post and plastic post swapped
- some plastics completely missing.

Will fix as I go

Jeez have to pretty much completely strip this thing to swap all the rubbers lol. Come across more missing parts... think I got some on hand and will have to order the rest

Rubbers changed and slowly rebuilding had to order a metal post as well as was completely missing hehe.

Slowly rebuilding and cleaning as I go, just waiting for one post and the tomb stone mod to turn up then can fully assemble again

I noticed the right flipper felt a bit weird so took a look and it was missing the coil sleeve DOH was proper rattling. Had a spare so that’s all fixed

Yeah it’s how it should of been from the factory


Iv tried a few different bulbs / LEDs but settled on just blue tinted Incandescent bulbs as I like the soft glow of them
