Black Friday Deals?

Black friday strikes me as a cynical, retail industry driven construct to establish another sales point in the calendar in addition to the traditional ones

Easter
(Thanksgiving) in the usa
Christmas and New Year

De Beers similarly invented the concept of an engagement ring costing so many months salary. It used to be one, now it is being stretched to three.

A few years ago, no one had even heard of this Black Friday thing, yrt now it is being quoted everywhere

My wife works in retail. It's exactly like you say, except it's killing off the Christmas sales. It's also nothing to do with selling off old stock, they specifically stock up for it.

Was only jesting as you'll all know, Black Friday is a load of bollox where it brings out the worst in people fighting for items they don't really need but are hell bent on stopping anyone else getting it..
And as already mentioned is a way for stores to rid themselves of crap!
And I f ever I was buying another machine it would be off one of you lads......

I love Black Friday (on the internet - not a punchup over £10 off a Polaroid TV in Asda) \

Amazon have been doing some really good flash sales particularly this week.

Also got a new SIM card that I needed anyway with double data for 12 months, just because its black Friday week.

Plenty of good stuff to be had

That's not Amazon etc fault though it's the numpties that created the laws that are at fault.

You can't really blame anyone for avoiding as much tax as possible whilst staying within the law.
The laws need to change not the companies...

Yes that is very bad and sad

Couldn't agree more. Problem is those f****** t**** in the Treasury and government, etc., etc., yada, yada, yada... oops. Nearly started talking politics instead of pinball.

I'm happy. Just ordered the complete "V for Vendetta" comic via my trial Amazon Prime account due for free delivery tomorrow :D

This sack truck looks like a good buy: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/600LB-HEA...5bd7e8ec5&rpp_cat_id=563ba93ee4b05d75bd7e8ede

If anyone see any Wera tools on offer, can they post a link in here please :)
Fair price but you can get them at that price all year round. I know as paid that for identical one a while ago.

That's the prob with the whole Black Friday frenzy, usually impossible to tell if it's a 'bargain' just for today or not. Why it's a 'Win Win' for stores who don't even have to try as people have their buying hats on today anyway :)

This is the picture that sums it up best for me. Look at it quickly and you might think its something Live Aid might post:
