My TAF's lightboard in the backbox has black marks like burn marks above every lamp and I'm just wondering what the best way to clean it is. Anyone got an tips? A damp cloth just smears the marks more into the board...

Take lamps out. Put cotton wool in holes. Scrub with Novus 2. If it doesnt work, Remove sticker and staples, remove light-board from Cab, and spray with Matt white paint

I wouldn't even bother with the cleaning. Just paint it! That way you get a lovely shiny bright white to diffuse/reflect the light. All the boards I've seen seem to use a matt primer that is really prone to getting dirty. Using a proper top coat, either spray or paint gloss/semi-gloss, would give a wipe clean surface that's less likely to get dirty in the first place.
I was initially gonna say that, however i realise not everyone is as drastic as i am!

But playing the game is only half the fun. Messing around with the machine itself is satisfying too. It was a heap of junk when I bought it, and slowly but surely its emerging from the wreck that it once was. Got a restored playfield from Germany waiting to go in soon and then it's really going to be the mutts nutts...

I take the same view as I do cars. I drive a little lotus elise and do about 4-5k miles a year in it, when others do 500 miles but 30 polishes.
Get it used as it's intended and enjoy it for what it is.
Mines nearly 100k more than that!!

eraser pads or get some white powder from 1 stoppinball ,what ever you do ,do not get that stuff on the playfield glass !!
