Looking to either fit remote battery holder or nvram to my pins.

Tftc: looking online it looks as though its a simple ram that can be fitted for this?
Any ideas what type i would need?

The getaway: looks like the remote holder is the easier option? Any good threads on this as im getting confused a bit with some removing the original holder and some leaving it in

Thank you :)

If the memory chip that needs to be replaced is already socketed that's probably the best option, if not would require getting the old chip out then soldering the socket/nvram.
Could go with one of these things, or make something similar, more secure than crocodile clips and 100% reversible.....

I've had 2 different machine come through with bad nvram. it was kinda tricky to diagnose that was the issue.
If I can i like the cr2032 holder for battery replacement.

Removing the old RAM and replacing it with a socket was not a hard job when I had to do it because the RAM was corrupt. I then failed to by NVRAM due to them being out of stock.

I done the towel trick with a christmas village we get out each year, it does work well but feels a bit cheap on your pride and joy. Again, made it easily myself.

You have to assume the battery holders are good to start with. I see so many that have had leakage on them (but not on the board) or are just tarnished.

Lithium AA batteries if the Ram Chip isnt socketed.... Easiest and quickest solution.

If the Ram chip is already socketed then it takes longer to get the board out than it does to change the Chip...
