Bally Squawk & Talk Sound card - issue - Speech becomes garbled after machine been on for a while

2 hours of f-ing about, plenty of 1/2 blown chips. eventually figure out that the supposed 21v eproms get ruined at 21v. they’re not what they say they are. but nicely instead they’re actually 12.7v ones, so easy to blow.

now got a working verified chip. put it in the s&t board and waaayhayyyyy. success! perfect sound.
