Backbox Plug Question

In the backbox of my Teacher's Pet there is a plug which can be set as either LIBERAL adjustment on one side and CONS adjustment on the other.
I have no idea what this does. Can anyone enlighten me?

This will refer to one or more of the gameplay settings eg extra ball settings, score thresholds etc. You prob need the manual though sometimes the info is on cards attached to the cab or backbox.

It makes the machine either eaiser or more difficult. Usually changes game from a three ball to a five ball.

As no-ones said it, cons means conservative. Won't affect number of balls, that'll be a different plug. Liberal will light features more readily, conservative will require more work to achieve.
