Back to the Future Pinball Bumper Problem

Morning all,

I have the Back to the Future Data East Pinball, and it seems to have suddenly developed an issue, the bumpers at the bottom above the flippers, and the top 3 red circular things, along with a few of the flashers, seem to have ceased functioning... I ran the test and everything works up to the point there a trigger in the bottom of the machine fires and bangs against the wood making a loud bang, beyond that, none of the tests do anything... Apologies this is the first pinball machine I have had, so my knowledge on them is very limited!

I am assuming either something has come unplugged or has broken somewhere? I was hoping someone may be able to help me out with this?

Hi Dan, I'm relatively new to this hobby but have fixed a few things on my DE. I'd be checking

1) fuses, blown, right rating fast/slow blow, good fuse holders - if one has blown something else may be causing it
2) connectors in backbox, anything obviously burnt out or such like
3) wiring continuity, look around for obvious loose wires, stuff can be connected in series so a disconnected wire can take several things out

If you can be more specific on what's not working, perhaps some photos we can refer to the schematics.

Any ideas where I would find the fuse that may have blown? I have glanced over the back ones and they seem fine... :-/ I have made a video, which I will upload

A visual inspection may not suffice. If you have a meter, use that to check the fuses.

Not sure if the manual is available to download on ipdb but if so that will show the fuse locations.

If a fuse has blown, there will probably be reason for it. You might be lucky but look for a cause
