Are Molex connectors (0.156") suitable for 240 volts?

Hi guys,

Quick question - are Molex 0.156" connectors suitable for 240 volts (assuming installed correctly, safely, etc).

I am connecting two wires on a non pinball arcade machine (to feed the strip light) and Molex would be the best way as I could disconnect easily and it would look better than block terminal strips.

I am assuming it would be fine, but wanted to check with the experts first!

I have the right tool, and it will be done carefully, but want to see what you thought before I do it tonight.

Cheers, Mark

Thanks Carl, makes sense.

The current would be low, definitely <3a so going by that it should be ok.

I have a few commercial power supplies which use 0.156 connectors on the inputs (240v) so yes I assume there is no problem there.

Best bet is to check the datasheet to find the max rated current and voltage (voltage is more about the pin spacing than anything) but I have no reason to doubt they would be rated at greater than 240v

Thanks Luke, that's good to know. I'm sure it will be fine - it just looks a lot better than those horrible block terminals!

Cheers, Mark
