The people that don't like the profit margins confuse me, is it because they didnt/cant do it themselves?
Or is it because they might believe there's an issue of ethics, that takes precedence to money?
In the current climate, yes, you can get more for a machine than most others would value it at.
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
If everyone bought machines then turned them over for profit, all that would happen would be all prices constantly rising, thus killing a hobby that is already very expensive and only for the minority.
We are already seeing this happen in recent years.
Keeping pinball accessible to people outside of just those who can afford it by keeping the prices down is more important "historically" than profit turning.
Matt Vince, for example, has sold many machines cheap this year that he could have made loads more money on eBay for, maybe he just isn't being a dick? Or maybe he's making an effort to try and keep the market cheaper in general because he knows that profits *all of us* in the end.
And if "supply and demand is King" then I hope the Kings castle burns.
It's not a coincidence that those who always like to make profit from games are always the fastest to sell off those games they acquired that they "really wanted"
Nothing personal here written to you deathrow, or anyone else. Nor am I claiming to be right. It's just an alternate viewpoint.
