A query for you guys who order from the states, I put in an order for a mod from overseas. The seller used USPS priority international mail to send it. According to the USPS tracking service the item was delivered, at 6:53 AM on Saturday, which of course it wasn't.

I'm just wondering if it's been 'delivered' to a Royal Mail depot? This is the first time I've ordered something from overseas and not had any customs. I'm hoping it is actually held for customs and I'm just waiting for a slip to turn up in the post. I'm just slightly concerned USPS think it's been delivered. Has anyone used them before and could confirm this is the case? Ta!

Used them before (or rather businesses I have bought off have), but never used their tracking service. If it is stuck in customs it could take a couple of weeks to arrive...

If it says it's been delivered bet it's been handled by parcel force and is waiting in your local post office

Had this happen twice now and no card through the door

Same here, I was waiting for a large order from Comet. Tracking said delivered so I went to the sorting office. Turns out the card had been left at the wrong address.
The card was because there was a customs charge to pay. But the worse thing was, when I contacted Comet they said if the item was lost I wouldn't be able to claim as the tracking shows it's been delivered. Thats what you get for paying 50 dollars for delivery including insurance! Plus customs charge, 20% vat and handling fee

Hmm okay, thanks for the replies guys. I will give it some time and see if a customs charge turns up and if not inquire at the post office. I hope it hasn't gone walkabout, it was a fairly expensive item!

I had a big box from the US left at the neighbours a few weeks before Christmas, it clearly had 'customs charge needs paying' notification on it but the courier had just left it. About a week later got a demand thru the post from Customs saying if I didnt pay my parcel wouldn't be released to me :D, I just ignored it , after all I have the parcel.... didn't hear anything else.

Had my daughter board delivered with usps and that's exactly what happened. Marked as delivered when handed to the post office. Then get a card telling you to pay a customs charge of £12! Had to sign up to the post office website to pay it and the earliest they could redeliver was another 2 days. If they'd come and knocked on thr door with the parcel i'd of give him the £12 o_O
