If so, did you colour match the inserts / flashers, and if you did could you tell me what you went for so I can build an order?

TIA

Go for comet kits, saves yourself a lot of Hassle. @David retro will be able to sort you out.

I've got comets in all my games including MB. Its just simply the best LED out there IMO. I've tried super flux/noflix and knock off chinese non branded. Nothing compares.

Be sure to couple this with either an LED OCD Board for the inserts and GI or get on the list to @stumblor for the after glow kits. MB will loose quite a few effects if you go from incandescent to LED without them.

The only time I entertain Incandescents is in top playfield flashers. Comet Flashers are incredibly bright and can be dazzling.

Just finished two ToM's both had full comet kits with LED OCD Boards.

Thanks @s000m have pinged @David retro. I'l be using Afterglow's although don't have Afterglow GI's so might pick them up. Any views on warm white vs neutral vs cool white for GI and flasher? and did you do a straight colour match for the inserts ?

So me and @Ant-H discussed this one.

Typically we've gone Frosted White for GI, clear white is just too bright. Sunlight white is also an option, which works well on Theatre of Magic (dependant on game). Its all down to personal preferance. My only advice would be to avoid clear capped LED's as they are often too bright.

I’ve done loads of games now and like the Comet twin Smd sunlight white in clear dome for playfield and frosted for backbox.
For inserts I use the superbright Smd (don’t need to be Comet as others are good and a bit cheaper) with warm white for yellow and orange inserts, red, green and blue colour match or cool white for blue if you prefer light blue to a beeper darker blue. Warm or cool white for whites depending on preference.
Colour matched flashers look good with the flat 8 or 9 smds. Whites can be very powerful though!
Tower flashers are needed for horizontal inserts where the lamp is at right angles but they are more expensive.
Each to there own though!

I buy a load of frosted comet Sunlights and use them for GI and most of the inserts.
I don't bother with color matching except using warm for warm coloured inserts and cool for blues.
But you can get away with Sunlights throughout really.

I keep flashers incandescent as LEDs can be too much and lose some of the effect.
+1 to ledocd/afterglow

Thanks folks. Appreciate your thoughts, some great tips here to get me started :)
