Anyone know someone capable of Rewinding a transformer for a 1960's Valve amp Jukebox?

Hi all,

I bought a NSM Stereo 100 Jukebox back in December.

Upon 10 miles away from pickup I was informed the Jukebox wasn't powering on (fried transformer)

I was assured it was a simple fix... Fast forward 5 months I've found no one willing of able to rewind the transformer let alone find it's replacement.

I've tried many specialists including NSM Jukebox repair, Geoff Young (Glass Amp specialist), Black Forest Jukebox, Jukebox Revival (Leon), Jukebox Amplifier Repairs UK (Bob Harper) and The Jukebox Man.

If anyone happens to have spare transformers or knows a Rewinding specialist able to help it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Scott

What voltages does it output? Can’t you use multiple transformers to get the various voltages? Why does it have to come from one?

We've been trying that the trick is its a lot of AC voltages like 3v AC and 12v AC.

Real PITA

Phil Docker is your best bet
I am indeed.

I actually did advise Scott not to buy this - but allas - nobody listens to good advice.

The whole of the power supply also needs rebuilding. Rectifiers replaced. Caps.

I fitted one of these transformers three weeks ago. Took me three days to refurb whole unit.

If anyone thinks someone is going to rewind a transformer for under the cost of this one, then you will have a shock.

Last custom mains transformer I got was over £450.

You need to know voltages and loadings.

Umm no where did you say not to buy it, but Ok?

Been happy to pay for the work, but no one is interested.

Pretty sure my wife reached out to you Phil but you didn't respond.

All well we all have our own version of events it seems.

I still think using a mixture of other off the shelf AC transformers to get the various voltages is the way forward.

Class act putting up PMs

I actually have given you a solution to your issue as well
Phil if you make stuff up I'll call you out on it.

It becomes my word against yours without evidence.

Only class act is your constant digs and sarcasm. Each of which I can do without.

Scott - that message - says THEY ARE NOT THAT RELIABLE. Now if someone who has been repairing jukes and trading them since 1995 gives you that advice - someone with intelligence would go 'I will keep away from that'.

You buy it - and it goes wrong.......

Also - I have given you a SOLUTION TO YOUR PROBLEM - you wont get a jukebox transformer re-wound for less than that.

I have given you free advice. You have not taken it.

Then you publish on here a private message. Note the PRIVATE MESSAGE bit. What exactly are you calling me out for?

To be fair there was quite a few warnings in that message from Phil lol. I’d of had second thoughts about purchasing it….

You seem to be ignoring the fact you opened up 'with a lovely one'. You didn't say once not to buy it. You mention that they are not that reliable and that's it.

You can't make blanket statements which are not accurate and then skew the message to fit your response.

The replacement transformer you linked isn't correct as it doesn't carry the same voltages. Re-winding is the answer but no names have been provided.

The transformer is right !

The schematic shows UNDERLOAD VOLTAGES.

The advert shows voltage output.

I fitted one recently - or do you want videos as proof ?
Would love proof since half the voltages required aren't shown on the description on that link.

These are the required voltages.

110v
275v
30v
3v
6.3v
3.3v
11v
5v

The secondaries on that transformer look standard for the application, if anything, more than expected.
