Hi,

Just wondering if anyone here is going to EAG next week in London. I've never been to one before and was wondering if its worth the travel to get there?

Are there lots of arcade games to play on? Or is it more business-oriented than that?

There was quite a few pinheads there last year.

Not sure if Pinball Heaven are going this year, as they are not on the list of exhibitors?

Heighway will be there with Full Throttle, and Electrocoin usually have a couple of recent Stern machines, but don't think I will go if PH is not exhibiting.

And yes there are quite a few new vids to play for free, so that's a bonus, not a bad way to spend a day off work

But beware that the parking at Excel is £15 flat fee, and the traffic getting back to the M25 at evening rush hour was horrendous, might be worth getting the tube.

Tube from central London might be the best way then - I think Parking is £20 this year :(

Hoping to be there at some point as i have a couple of meetings down London way co-incidentally at around the same time... ;)

Coming from the East Mids I would recommend Cockfosters - parking is £2 on Saturday, £1.50 on Sunday!

edit: forgot the shows midweek  , so £5.30.

I can highly recommend it, great day out, all the latest arcade cabs, fruit machines, pinballs, air hockey, simulators all on free play.
For value, it sure beats Namco museum.

The highlight last year was playing the latest Star Wars Battle Pod game.

There are usually between 6-8 different pins to play from different exhibitors.

I take my girlfriend every year, and she loves it. We are going Wednesday this year.

There is all sorts to look at including a company that specialises in commercial arcade carpets, this could be the year I finally order some from him for a proposed future games room.

For giggles I change my career every year, last year I went along as an electrician, this year I am a self employed arcade restorer.

i'm planning on going on one day, not sure which one yet

also is anyone from the South who knows me going along, and taking a vehicle? i accidentally left 5 (yes five, count em) sets of legs/bolts at NLP, and apparently @Wizcat and @Onze are driving down and could bring them along .... but 20kg of steel would be no fun on the tube home, and they wouldn't fit on my bike. so if someone local-ish to me is driving, maybe the legs could at least move to within 50 miles of my house?

Was hoping Ghost Busters was going to be at the show but guessing it will be SMVE?
And no JJP.
Thought Jack might be there with the finished Hobbit.

Hoping to make it this year. Not sure which day but it must be less than 20 mins from my work

not in the same league as the good old ATEI but I have been to every Jan London show since 1986 when the new games were Outrun and High Speed so not going to stop now. will pop in few hours on the Thursday to give GOT a proper seeing to. there wont be much innovation on the video front but star wars battle pod is worth a blast

best show for pinball in UK trade wise was the 1992 autumn preview. I remember a line of 10 fishtales 5 dr whos and brand new star wars on the electrocoin stand alongside 5 lw3.

I used to go with my dad every year to the London Show (Olympia/Earls Court?), what a way to spend a day off school

Earliest memory was playing Dragon's Lair and Pole Position II, must have been 83 I guess.

the movie confession of an arcade collector will be out in the summer. Ive ask Brad Pitt to play myself but he was strangly unavailable
