Hi

Not done one of these before and i don't seem to see any how tos on line - maybe i am not using the write towards? The glass is a little thicker than 3/16 so i have purchased some ultra thin double sided tape, and will cut a few patches of this.

Do i apply the tape to the glass or the trim - or does it not matter?

Would you recommend heating glass and trim a bit prior to insertion?

I really want to avoid knackering £400 of new back glass :-)

Grateful for your thoughts

Cheers

JB

Usually the glass is thinner than the metal channel - have you got the right channel thickness for the glass, there are 2 different thicknesses of glass, with similarly sized channels 1/8" and 3/16"?

Then I put some tape in a few layers around the glass to make it tightly fit into the channel, Not the full length - just two spots either end about 2" in and 1.5" long each. Any tape that has some thickness will do, insulation tape, masking tape, cloth tape etc.

If the glass is a bit thicker than 3/16 it is likely to be 5 mm.
Does it actually fit in the trim?
