3 for sale in a week

Pointless and un-needed comment. Not on topic. Not constructive. Does not question the item in sale. Therefore spammage/ reported as being a time-waster

Like facehuggers leaving a sinking hydrofoil
Also reported... troll elsewhere ....

for sales, trades or wanted are for just that: not idle useless, futile, benial, inane, comments. Look elsewhere for that....

A bit harsh there I think Rav. I thought it was totally 'on topic' and a fair observation.

No malice intended I'm quite sure, I think you've misinterpreted his post.

As for the pin ........ I get increasingly tempted by this title. I've never played one but the theme is incredibly appealing.

Harsh? When does a “when like a facehugger leaving a sinking hydrofoil” be ‘on topic’ Or not be harsh in its own right??

If people think I‘m a facehugger or even a hydrofoil I’ll consider changing my stance. i agree, however , it is an observation, but (without looking) I have no doubt there is a thread elsewhere on this site that such a comment is applicable: This is a TRADING section on the site, and therefore I fail to see why @thewool post has substance in this particular thread.

This section is for buying, selling or trading pinball machines. Not venting their opinions on a particular item / vendor / etc. Like i say .... there are other sections for gutter speculations- and all this “Chafe” does is prevent or deter a prospective buyer from actually communicating WITH the seller - i dont midn if they then go off and look for second opinions... but the fact remains not one post after my OP is ‘on thread’ .... i expect anyone who Might be interested has already been scared off... thanks for that one and all

I've no idea what you're alluding to Rav.

Ian mentioned that there were 3 Aliens for sale within a week and you accused him of spamming and going off topic. You said that he was a time waster and that he'd been reported.

I was merely suggesting that 3 Aliens for sale was more than pertinent on a thread to sell an Alien pinball machine.

whose it pertinent to? cant possibly be to ian - he isnt a buyer - he sold his - and im sure hes feeling a bit smug about it right now... And so, i conjecture, makes an unconstructive comment merely as inane chit chat.

So 3 machines apparently became available in the same week - so what - I inferred to the next pinball debarcle in my OP... i have 4 black knight machines right now and so your saying i cant list 3 of them for sale as I surely only need one? Or indeed well done, you (Ian) gets the badge for pointing out a trend - but it still has absolutely NOTHING to do with ju beautiful, reliable, immaculate machine - of which no one is talking about because of the chaff people think they have a right to put out.

your point is moot.

my point is better....
and more constructive for the community going on...

I think your're hugely over complicating things here and seeing conspiracy where there is none.

Erm . . . . No 🤔. I'm suggesting that someone would be able to comment on the fact that there were numerous BK's for sale without being reported, called a spammer and having their collar felt.

This has truly taken a bizarre twist it has to be said. I actually opened this thread excited to see another of these very rare machines and look at the pictures.

What I found was someone who was extremely rude to the first person who dared comment.

You seem to have started the thread with a chip on your shoulder and were firing off insults almost immediately. The thread isn't even 2 hours old yet you're blaming others for derailing the sale and 'scaring sellers off'.

I only posted to suggest that you might have misconstrued Ian's comments and you've gone nuclear.

You're too abrasive and rude mate. . . . . . not a good look when you want someone to send you nearly 8 grand. You've certainly alienated me. 👽

i refer you to this thread:
https://www.pinballinfo.com/community/threads/heighway-pinball-alien-huo.48053/

if you read it thru you’ll see I chip in I want to sell via this medium but expect hospitality all the way: so i started abrupt, you’re being abrupt now no? See how it easily happens?

and it still has SOD ALL to do with the pinball *I’m* selling - not you!

am i rude? Or has the thread in question slanted my view already and I just didnt want that anti-Heighway hecklers non-constructive input.

but hey - you and I have managed to derail that...

its going to ebay Sunday and f**k the lot of you

Hilarious thread, worst attitude I’ve seen so far on here - how very bizarre, every comment actual bumps the thread to the top of recent threads so is actually beneficial!
The seller was the first and only person to say anything negative and mention ‘heighway haters’ too - is it April 1st by any chance??
Very strange [emoji15]

To be honest I wouldn't like 'three in a week' or the other comment insinuating rats from a sinking ship...

I found both comments unnecessary.

I like most other forum rules that don't allow post dumping. If there isn't something positive to say then don't say it.

Flipper Market actually blocks responses other than the Op in the FS section, a bit OTT but keeps it clean.

I noticed a sticky post in this section that says how to deliver a successful FS post. Maybe expand on it to offer advice on on topic replies.

Ok so I see this from Rav’s point of view , he wants to sell his machine and doesn’t want to have it derailed with stupid comments , as far as throwing comments “ at long standing members “ Rav has been in this hobby and done more for this hobby than the majority of folk that pop their heads up trying to be funny on a sales thread. I think it’s also that a few of us remember a time when it was considered rude to have a go at someone’s for sale thread. I think Rav was just wanting to shut down anyone saying anything that isn’t relevant to his sale. So the sooner that new sale thread is made the better , and I can then try and sell my “ Runted Joey “ Flash again . 😝

Ok, so that was maybe a little over the top...

I think Rav was just wanting to shut down anyone saying anything that isn’t relevant to his sale.

Possibly, however there are ways to do that, and abusing people isnt one of those ways..

We had a big discussion about wether to allow comments, and the overwhelming consensus was that if the seller didnt like it then they could just ignore it.

However as i have mentioned before, personal abuse isnt something im prepared to accept....

Problem on this is.... If person is a scammer, there is no way to make others aware, short of making the admins aware, and we arent all available 24/7.

Also, this forum has a reasonable number of Newbies... it is, as a community, and in my view, our collective responsability to make sure those guys arent fleeced and charged say £8k for a Baywatch.

It's a difficult one to call..
