Anyone familiar with afterglow boards?
Was working fine since installed a couple months ago, machine usually gets light use, maybe an hour or 2 per week, today machine was on for about 4hours when it started acting up and inserts started getting stuck on, it’s like whatever was flashing at the time would get stuck on when it happened, power still going to board but inserts that were on when it happens stay stuck on even after game finished, new game started.

Make sure no dodgy connections - trace all the cables to the afterglow board and reseat the connectors at both ends, checking for dirty contacts.

Nothing loose, all connections good, moving cables doesn’t cause it to happen. it’s weird, it’s like the arduino hangs and whatever outputs was happening gets stuck on, just realised there’s a reset button on the arduino, next time it happens I’ll push that and see what happens, that should narrow down and arduino issue or something else

It’s gotten worse, totally fecked now, either all inserts on or all inserts off :(
Can connect to arduino with computer so arduino not the issue, oh well, back to ghosting inserts, it was fun while it lasted

I've had this issue on two of my boards. It only happens if the games are on for a long time, the lamps get stuck on but a power cycle fixes it for sometimes only a few seconds.
I thought it must be heat related.

I've only noticed it on the previous afterglow boards with the Arduino Nano which don't need the power lead.
I've got one previous to that which used the test probe for power in Road Show and it's never happened to that one.

I don't understand how it's totally screwed now though? Usually mine is ok once game has been off a bit. It's something that could do with being fixed though. I didn't notice it on other games until our comp or we haf people over as usually the games aren't on for more than an hour or two at a time.

That's exactly what mines doing, no idea now why its stopped completely, I did remove the device and plug back in thinking it maybe an issue with the power driver board so maybe I haven't got the correct connection plugged in now or something, I'd given up on it for the night so I've have another look today.

I've broken a few afterglows in my time 😁
Lights stuck on sounds like it might have died, did you connect the ground? I killed two because the ground wasn't connected correctly even though I was sure it was!

Here's my fishy doing it today. For some reason TOM takes a lot longer to display the same issue. I only saw it once when we had it on all day for the comp

Hey everyone! So @JAG555 has been chatting with me about the 'leds getting stuck' issue which is still a problem on the new boards. I've had a chat with Pelle and we think we've gotten to the bottom of it - 'Brown Out Detection' again. And no, before you ask, its not a sensor to work out whether you've shat yourself (not the first time I've used this joke).

Anyone experiencing the issue, here's yer options

1. Send it back to me for a firmware update. If you could cover postage here, I'll cover it on the way back
2. Bring it to pinfest! Anyone planning to do this let me know and I'll bring a little rig.

I've not had it at all with the new ones.
I also had updated the firmware on my original ones with the Arduino and still had issues, or is this a different firmware?
