I know, I know, the crane's a classic point of failure. :(

I'm having some trouble adjusting the height of the crane arm, even after reading the manual and anything I could find online. Currently it gets stuck when Deadworld rotates so the magnet needs to be higher.

The manual says "To vertically adjust arm assembly, lift arm unit and loosen lower nut on the adjustment post near the rear of unit. Adjust lifter screw up or down so that the magnet is approximately1/16" higher than the ball. Tighten the lower nut."

Clear as mud then. Is it talking about this circled part? I've removed the crane plastic and the flat metal piece with the magnet on the end, so what you see at the front in the red circle is the rod that pushes up the crane.

(Sorry for the shameless cross post from Pinside, I should have asked here first!)

Unfortunately I can only slacken the bottom nut a few turns in either direction before it tightens. This is maddening, it's definitely lower than it should be but I can't figure it out. :)

Ok how does this sound?

Slacken the bottom nut a few turns anti-clockwise and before it tightens then adjust the top nut anti-clockwise until just before that one tightens, then repeat several times until the desired adjustment is made...

Cheers for that Moonraker, I've got it sorted now, I had it all backwards and should have been adjusting the other rod. I've been away for a couple of weeks but should get The Fiddliest Toy In Pinball working again this week finally. :)
