Hi All

Looking for some advice on the bookcase.

It's very unstable. I can level it but then it can tilt as the ball runs across it.

To me this seems something to do with the bolt that runs all the way through. 42 in the diagram. If i tighten the wide collar (33) to get the level right there is still play in that screw....if i push it up to be next to the collar - better stability but it drops down.......then unstable

doesnt seen to screw into anything....theres no bite. Should it be attached somehow.....

Only one youtube piece on the bookcase and it doesnt help me.......

help please.....thank you

Without seeing it myself, the only thing I would recommend is checking to make sure the none of the plastic rods or plastic lock nut have any cracks.

I’d also inspect the underside of the bookcase as well to see if that’s cracked as well.

Thank you Ant / Dave.

Ant. The screw that goes all the way through - does it actually screw into the bookcase base? Or is the base just sitting on it as a spindle.

To put it another way - should the base just lift off or does it need detaching? (Ignoring arms that connect it to the motor)

If I remember this correctly there is a screw from the top through the bookcase housing which goes into the axle from the top. And another one from the bottom. The axle then rides in two plastic bushings which sit in the threaded cylinder used to level the case.

Yes that’s right. If I remember correctly you to dismantle the bookcase at the top to reveal the screw head.
