3D Printers

Thanks Wayne for printing the loop mod for my Rush, works perfectly and loop has registered 100% since installing 👍 must have for any Rush owners!

I've told them only acceptable resolution is a complete NIB replacement.

It's properly caved in. Will possibly work, butbit is a precision bit of machinery so not taking any risks at nearly 2k

How have you got on with Bambu? Have they arranged a replacement yet?

Mine arrived on Saturday, and after seeing your experience I was quite anxious to get it unboxed and inspected. Luckily it was okay.

The courier XDP were dreadful though. Bambu charged £80 for a supposedly 3-5 day, 2 person service. XDP took 10 days to deliver and was brought by a single guy! He must have had his Weetabix though, he lifted it a lot easier than I could!

Bambu have been great.
Its due to be collecred Monday, but iI havent had a shipping label yet.
Delivery expected a further 2-3 weeks away though

Same experience as you with XPD, almost certainly it was them who damaged it

Sucks you've got to wait, but good to hear their support is good.

From looking at the Bambu forums, it seems there's been an awful lot of dissatisfaction with XDP.

I'm getting to grips with my H2D. It's a much more polished looking product than my old Prusa XL, and so much quieter than my old Bambu X1C.

Just printed a cheap and cheerful topper for the Bond pin that's on it's way.

I retract my statement that Bambu have been great at customer service. They've been abysmal.

Three failed collections, for which I had to take time off. In the end, I shipped it back to their warehouse myself, for which I'm still waiting to be reimbursed.

So you can imagine my joy when I had a text at 10:30 this morning saying that they are going to deliver between 4 & 6 today. It's not a great deal of notice, just as well I've got an understanding manager.

When it did arrive you can imagine my disgust when I saw this.

I made the driver wait until I had unpacked it on the drive to see if it was damaged or just the packaging.

Fortunately it was just the outer packaging.
It had been booked as a 2 man delivery, but only a single skinny guy turned up with no sack truck, struggling to even lift it, let alone get it to my door. The one thing everyone who owns a pinball machine has is a sack truck so problem solved.

I got it inside unpacked, then lifted it up on to my cabinet. Its massive.

The problem then became apparent. It was too big as there was no room at the back for ventilation or accessories.

So plan B came into effect.

On to the kitchen table / workbench.

Finished setting it up, and hooked 2 AMSs up to it. 1 original and 1 AMS Pro. Started first print, the obligatory benchy. While printing, the first thing I noticed was how much it shook! My cup of tea looked like a prop from JP. It was also incredibly quiet, almost silent despite the shaking.
The print was as good as I've come to expect from Bambu and only took 24 mins.

I then decided to see how much quicker and cheaper it was to print in multicolour with the 2 extruders.

Huge differences. The first profile is costs for a single multicolour dragon on the P1S. The second was for 2 of the same model on the H2D.

Single model £3.05 cost at 8hrs on the P1S.
Equivalent on the H2D was £1.92 at 5 3/4hrs. A third knocked off the cost and over a quarter of the time.

This is exactly what I was hoping for, and it needs to be at such an initial outlay, of close to £2k, it needs to start making money ASAP.

I haven't began to explore everything it has to offer yet, but first signs look good.

That sort of time and cost saving, coupled with the noise, means if you do make money from your device, then the initial high cost sounds justifiable.

I do appreciate the value of an AMS on a single extruded, the ability to switch between colours between build plates is very convenient. But for a multicolour print, a dual head is the way forward.

2 years ago I couldn’t justify a printer, I am now in my 3rd and dreaming of the 4th.

Glad you've got there in the end Wayne.

The one man delivery instead of the promised two from XDP seems to be a recurring theme. Lots of reports on the Bambu forums about the same. My box arrived quite badly damaged as well, but like you I had the delivery man wait while I unboxed it.

A few weeks in and I'm still impressed with the printer.

I'm up to 4 now. 3 P1S's and the H2D, along with 3 AMS's and a single AMS 2 Pro.

2 of the P1Ss have an AMS hooked up, allowing 4 colour prints (but easily changeable so 1 can do 8 colours)
The H2D has an AMS Pro and an AMS allowing up to 8 colours.
Finally a single P1S using external spool.

The P1Ss are perfect for printing hueforge and light boxes as thee aren't many changes per layer, so not much wastage anyway. I've adapted the position of the buffer so that the PTFE tubes are shorter further reducing speed of a change over (as the filament has less distance to travel)

The H2D with an AMS connected to each extruder is absolutely perfect for creating models with only 2 colours, as there is zero purging or wastage. Even for models with more colours, when slicing it advises you as to which AMS to put the filament to reduce wastage even further. Currently everything is as it came out of the box, but I'm sure I'll find modifications which will speed it up even further.

Ive not really had much to do with bambu cs but a mate has. The turnaround time for replies seems to be the worst part.
Send mail, reply next day.
Reply to that.
Next reply next day etc.
And also the usual customer service thing of following a 'script'.
"The memory card slot is broken.. infact it's missing the gubbins the card goes into".
Ok, try another memory card 😁

My new K2 has been working well. Don't think it's any faster.. but it's bigger and I got 2 AMS type deelies 😁

I probably should look into making money from it . Though that's not why I got it... hobbies don't need to make money I guess .. if they did they did we would all need to site our pins 🤔 ?
Anyone got any tips ?

First issue with the H2D. The speed at which the AMS Pro 2 retracts and loads the filament, means that of the filament has been coiled loosely beforehand, it often digs in to the loose coils and causes a jam. Hopefully it'll sort itself out when the filament isn't as loose, but I cant see how you could possibly use a responded spool.

(It's kind of the same issue if you're loading a multiplier fishing reel and don't use a level-wind (or your thumb) when loading new line.)

Not that it's an issue at all, mainly because the print quality on the P1Ss are fantastic, but I cant see any noticeable improvement on print quality on the H2D - although I didn't expect any.

I'll leave a full, warts and all, review once I receive a response from Bambu regarding theor customer service.
I've given them the opportunity to try and make things right.
