I have discovered that routers can trigger the microwave aspect in dual sensor movement detectors. Dual sensors use PIR and microwaves in an AND gate to reduce the number of false alarms caused by insects and the like.
As one of the two sensors is always triggered, the infa red one is the only relevant detector. So false alarms are more likely.
