Ok so I'm still on my travels and now you find me spending the price of an old EM every night for a tiny hotel room.

More to follow if anyone interested. Otherwise I'll just stick it up on Facebook and YouTube as usual. Partly because I'm a whore/troll, and partly because by saving my pics to those sites I don't have to worry about saving them or backing them up even. They are no longer probably even my property.

If any of you lot have any recommendations for me then please let me know quickly, as my plans are rapidly filling up: bullet train, Kyoto, Osaka, bamboo forest, mt Fuji, sumo wrestling, morning fish market, some dodgy nightclub, cosplay people, drink lots of sake, Karaoke night, seek out vending machine selling used school knickers (myth or truth?), shopping for weird stuff, etc etc etc
 
Dan, get yourself over to Akihabara and check it out :) If your into video games then definitely go to Super Potato but if not then just have a wander round...loads of cool otaku stuff there. Try and get yourself to one of the arcades as well, the top floor of Super Potato is one but look for Hey! in Akihabara, I think it's where all the pro Street Fighter players hang out.

Cheers Chris, will try if I get a chance but have wifey with me so not that likely tbh. Is that a place in Tokyo? What's otaku?

Thought I had wondered off into a pallarel universe for a moment then and then I saw a pic of Dan in his Hong Kong Phooy outfit and then it all fell into place.
Have fun Pal and do as much crazy stuff as you can.

I went there for a while, what district are you in?

Be sure to visit Shinjuku, Akihabara and Harajuku.

Shinjuku is the Times Square nightlife style place, you'll find karaoke, bars and hookers. Harajuku is where all the fashionistas, cosplay kids and street artists perform. Hang a right out of the station for the area where they all hang out.
Be sure to catch a ride on the bullet train to Osaka
If you see a store called Book Off then go in to have good afternoon shouted at you CONSTANTLY.
Get a subway train during rush hour for lulz, a white gloved attendant will physically push you on board and seal you in like a sardine.
Shibuya is your district for super priced clothing and suits and such. If you try to take photos in the stores there you get thrown out. Good times. Good, but expensive, nightlife here too.
Akihabara is all video games, comics and other manchild entertainment. And more hookers.

In my early 20s I worked for a Japanese record label. In my first week my Japanese boss asked me if I would like his magazine collection when he went back to Japan. Trying to make a good impression I declined so as not to appear too deviant. Still regret it...:oops:

Spent the next 10 years trying to cover up my bosses antics every other month when he came to the UK. A firm believe in quantity over quality he often ranted about why prostitutes were more expensive in Brighton than London.

Worked for him for 10 years and even by Japanese standards he was quite out there. Think he's still got a couple of shops in Shinjuku, so if you see any place called "Vinyl" then beware....
 
Those magazines on the newsstands are comic collections, they have a story or two from a selection of comics, kind of like a sampler. If you find a story you like then you go out to a comic store and pick up the full issue. They usually also have guides to bars and clubs around Tokyo.

They all have dirty covers, either anime or real girls.

All the hentai stuff is kept in the sex shops. Despite the sexual deviance, Japan is a massively censored country.
 
Great day today, got the bullet train to Osaka and spent the afternoon browsing odd shops, wandering round a *fantastic* aquarium (me and the mrs always go to these wherever we go. This one was toptastic, some pics below) then pigged out on an all you can eat deep fry buffet, rode a Ferris wheel, and finally hobbled footsore back to our hotel to drink sake.

Ok so this raging pervert tried to pry apart those locked pages in a magazine in 7-11, and I saw lots of girls in schoolgirl uniforms fiddling with themselves and getting their cartoon nips out, but nothing too startling or fascinating.

I will definitely pay a visit to one of those sex shops if and when I see one.

Not for me, you understand. Oh no missus. It's for John Whitfield who has been pestering me by text for some saucy mags to make up for his boss' collection he still regrets turning down.
And NO John, I'm not asking for the baby animal porn or Squish porn or Jumping Nun porn, or Tramp porn, or any of those other niche types you asked about.

Usually not heavily advertised from the outside, use your DeviantSense to find them.
They aren't the places with posters of girls advertised on the outside, they're the hostess bars, a lot of them may look like standard comic/manga stores, but will have a "downstairs" area ;)

Also often found near arcades and bars. So the hard working salaryman can get all his fixes in one street.

Got an excellent book a while ago entitled "Furverts" to give to a friend at work - opened up whole new worlds (not at all dodgy carrying that one around school all day before presenting it to her). Quite enjoyed it until it dawned on me that when fully costumed it could easily be a bit of man on man action. Now I like my rabbits strictly female.....

Btw I got a text off Matt V today but can't answer it as (1) my phone is playing up, apparently loads of phones don't work in Japan (2) even if I could, it'd cost me a fortune. I made the mistake of turning on roaming data briefly to search for a shop we were looking for ...... within a minute I had four texts from orange, each one warning I'd used up 70 then 80 then 90 then all 100% of my preset limit of £42 worth of data. Holy crap! 42 quid just to google some poxy market that turned out to be crap anyway! Bastards.

Ahem. Anyway, Matt was asking about the Friday evening team tournament. I don't get there til Saturday so can you give him a bell for me? You should join his team, they need a fourth I think? Otherwise I know that Carl is looking for a place, and a few others as well I think.

OMG, I think you've finally managed to outgross Dan.

I suspect whoever loaned their iPad to Dan might like to start investigating how to totally wipe the hard drive before the obscene publication quad turn up.
