WARNING - Insurance Nightmare

I had a really good experience with an insurance company recently.

I stupidly dropped the platter onto my 'as new' Technics 1210, damaging the top plate, introducing a wobble as well as nailing the cantilever on a 6 week old high end cartridge.

1 call to my insurers and within a day they had researched the item (it was a mk 2, so 20 odd years old), found a NOS one and paid out, including on the mods the old 1210 had. My choice what to do with the proceeds.

In all fairness they paid out more than 4x what it cost me new, but at the current going rate. Literally no arguing or negotiating necessary.
