Wayne and I will once again be running the main comp at Pinfest. No changes to the format or pricing since last year - broadly speaking that means it's the same 'PAPA card style' competition, which we first introduced to the UK back at the Northern Lights show in 2017.

You buy an entry card, which allows you to play three different games from the competition bank. Your score on each game is ranked against everyone else that played that game. Highest score on the game earns 100 points, then 95 for second, 90 for third, then 89, 88 and so on. That means on a single card of three incredible games, the maximum score possible is 300 points. It's that 'card score' that is used to determine your rank in the competition.

After completing a card you can rebuy, at £5 per card, and try again. Only your highest scoring card will be used to determine your rank, so there's no risk to having another attempt.

You can only have one card open at a time. If you feel like you've had a bad first game, or maybe your second game let you down, then it's possible to 'void' your card. That means the scores don't get entered into the system, and you can rebuy and start fresh on a new card.

For anyone new, it's really not as complicated as it might sound. You buy in, you play games, you see how you compare against some of the best players in the UK and beyond! We're all dead friendly, so just come and have a chat if things aren't too clear. This competition format is designed to make it as easy as possible for newbies to dip their toe into the world of competitive pinball.

Qualifying will take place with that format, from 10am on Saturday, through to midday on Sunday
At the end of qualifying the top 24 people will qualify for finals, and the top 8 receive a bye through to the second round.

Finals start at 1pm Sunday
For finals, players are grouped into pairs. Each group then plays head to head across three different machines, randomly selected from the competition bank. First player to two wins proceeds to the next round, until the last round which is a four player group across three machines.

Registration (and first ticket) is £10, or register and buy four tickets for £20
Subsequent tickets are £5 each

All of the entry money is returned as prizes. We've got a guaranteed minimum of £1000 for first place
1st - 35% (Plus trophy)
2nd - 20% (Plus trophy)
3rd - 15% (Plus trophy)
4th - 10%
5th - 5%
6th - 5%
7th - 5%
8th - 5%

We'll be using Karl DeAngelo's tournament system once again (massive thanks Karl) and we'll have tournament positions/game scores on screens through the area, as well as online.
