An uncommon game, especially in the UK, but one of Data East's best IMHO  Don't think I've ever seen another for sale at least since the forum has been around. I got this from Croatia many moons ago with the help of @JMP and after stripping it down and sorting it out I'd say it's in good players condition. Both the top and bottom of the playfield stripped, everything cleaned and rebuilt, metal tumbled etc (the usual stuff), new rubbers, Comet LEDs in the GI with inserts left incandescent, new spinners as they were missing when I got it and probably more I can't remember.

It's not a minter so the key things to be aware of outside of the usual wear and tear are:
  • Some cab damage near the front right leg and extending under it. Leg still solidly attached though.
  • I think it's got the wrong legs on it (more modern Stern ones by the looks of it).
  • Data East flipper mechs were replaced with Gottlieb ones which the Croatian op thought were more reliable/durable in their arcade, game plays fine with them.
  • Some of the torpedo inserts are slightly raised. It's been double mylared since birth which smoothes everything out and I'd did spend some time levelling them when working on it but they are not perfectly flat (doesn't really affect gameplay much as it's so fast).
  • It needs a new remote battery holder fitting as the current one is using some sort of re-chargeable battery and I assume it's died as not saving settings (game has been switched off for a long time since I worked on it)
  • Some switches need adjusting as new target foam has pushed them out a bit (basically the usual fettling after taking a game to bits).
One thing to be aware of, if you have any sort of light sensitivity then this game isn't for you. When the jackpot light show goes off it will put you in hospital :D

Taking all the above into account I think £1750 is a fair price  If someone is interested but would want me to look at things like the switches, battery holder, inserts etc then I could but the price would go up so more a small project for someone to tinker with. Lots of pics below but let me know if you want any others and obviously if you want to come over and have a look at it then PM me.

Last time I was att your Dads garage it was full to bursting with all your pins and that was ages ago. Im sure he will be glad of getting part of it back at least.
Rare machine that Torpedo Alley and one I thought was close to your heart, but like you say you can’t keep them all and choosing which to move on next is always a hard decision.
