Want to extend the topper and move it away from the machine but still function. Power is fine but just checking that it's a standard ethernet rj45 cable that's used for communication from the cpu node board so any regular ethernet extension cable will work?

Get another RJ45 cable and buy the joining connector.
If your not in a big rush I have loads of cat5 in various lengths, can get next base or league
